Let’s dive into the details of how to do it.

Create an account

It is easy to create a SamCart Account. Log into the website SamCart.com and click on the obvious ‘TRY IT FREE’ button.

The pricing page will redirect you to the plan selection page.

There is no need to make an initial payment. You can just try it out without paying anything. You’ll be taken directly to the checkout page after you click on one of the plans.

During the 14-day free trial period, there will be no charges for you to use the product. You have 14 days to cancel your subscription.

After you have completed your order, you will be taken to the signup page.

And then you’ll have to create your marketplace. The form below is the example.

Fill out the form and once you’re done, click “Create Marketplace” to get started.

You are now fully registered and you can begin using SamCart. Samcart Trial

Next step is to create your checkout page. Here’s how your SamCart dashboard looks like:

You can see that only in 3 steps, you should be done with creating your checkout page.

Step 1 Edit Settings

Click on the Edit Settings button and the page to edit will appear in a new tab. Don’t worry, you’ll be taken to that page automatically.

Let’s move on.

The Edit page can be divided into five sections. The General tab allows you to edit a variety of options, including your cart logo and your content URL parameters.

Let’s check out what you can change in these fields:

i). Marketplace Name: You can change the Marketplace name at any time. Remember that you added it during your signup process.

You can edit it if it’s not correct.

Then, you can choose which country will appear as the default for your checkout page. Of course, customers can always change it to another country.

ii). Time Zone: Now you can choose the Time Zone that your cart will work with. Samcart Trial

This is important since if you add a product expired date, your date/time and time will be calculated based off the timezone you specified. You can tell your customers the timezone you are using.

iii). Support Contact: Here you will add your support email. Add an email address customers can reach you easily.

Any email address can be added. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: After you register your currency, you will not be able change it. You can’t change the currency at this stage.

You can change the SamCart support number if you need to.

v Embed HTML/Scripts: If you’re a bit tech-savvy and would like to add HTML or JavaScript code on your checkout page, then you can use the Embed HTML/Scripts area.

You don’t need any other settings for that to work. It should be able to work straight out the box. Samcart Trial

vi Purchase completion: In this field, you want to select where your users will be taken to after making a purchase. It is up to you whether you want them to go directly to the original URL, or to display a summary page that contains redirect links.

You can also use the Redirect Link ButtonText to let your customers know what to do next.

For example, you can allow them to gain access to the product, allow them to download the digital product they just paid for, join your membership site premium area, etc.

You should now be able to move forward. You can however, configure your marketing data at once if you wish.

You don’t need to change the settings. You can customize the settings by changing the names of the fields as shown in the example.

Once you’re done editing these settings, please save the settings. The Save button appears in the top left corner of your page.

Next, you will be able to go to the Integration Menu tab. There are many options for integrations.

It is important to set up the integration early so that you don’t have it to do each time you need to sell a product.

Let’s begin with integrating our autoresponder email software. To add an additional email service, click “+Add New”

Select the one that is most applicable to you. Click on the icon if you’ve already signed up with AWeberor MailChimp to proceed with integration.

Let’s say that MailChimp was your preferred autoresponder for this example.

You can edit the integration details by selecting MailChimp in the drop-down menu. Add the integration name and your API Key.

You can enter any name to your label. That’s what you’ll use to identify this integration in case you want to use it. Name it something descriptive. I’ll name mine MailChimp Integration. Samcart Trial

Next, log into your MailChimp Account to obtain your API key. Log in to Mailchimp.com with your username, password and email address.

Once you have successfully logged into your MailChimp Account, go to the Extras Menu. There you will find API keys in a drop-down menu.

Click on the Create Key button, and an API key will automatically be generated. You don’t need to do anything.

Copy it and paste it in your SamCart integration setup.

That’s it.

You might also need to integrate another platform. This process could be slightly different.

To integrate with Aweber, for example, you don’t need to manually go to your dashboard to get your API key. The system will allow you to log in and complete the integration.

These are often the two most common ways in which integration processes work in many situations.

But if your product is a membership site, you might also want to integrate with a membership platform.

Scroll down until you find the link to join.

Click on + Add New.

And this page will show up:

Click on Add Integration and choose the membership platform that you would like to use with your product.

I can now input the required information and click the Integration button. All of the necessary information can be found in your dashboard. Log in to your OptimizeMember dashboard for all the details.

Next, customize the email settings. This functionality is available by clicking on the Email tab. Some settings that you can edit are:

a Email Footer – Here you can edit your footer details, which will be included in all emails you send from your dashboard.

After clicking it, a popup window will open for you to edit.

Next, you need to create emails that will always remain the same for every customer for certain events. Samcart Trial

b Emails with customisable content

Click the Edit button to edit it.

What about when processes go sour? These are where you will set the email messages that customers receive when processes fail.

After you’re done editing your email, you can add custom fields if desired. Here’s where you can add custom fields to the checkout page.

To add custom fields, click on the + Create New button.

A pop-up will be displayed.

Enter the name of the fields you want to add, the internal field name won’t be seen by your customer but the check out page label will be shown to the customer as the field name.

A drop-down list of items appears when you click the field. Understand that for a drop-down list, the customer can only choose one item.

A checkbox will contain several items that a user can choose from. Customers have the option to choose from all of them (or just one)

However, this is only a one-item checkbox.

Click Save when you are done.

You can add as many as you wish. You should be aware that customers dislike long forms. Don’t make your form too long.

It’s likely they will abandon it. Like I stated earlier, 2 out of 3 customers will abandon their shopping cart.

Do not give them another reason to leave. One of the main reasons 27% customers abandon shopping carts is that it is too complicated. Samcart Trial

Keep it simple.

Enter their email address below and click Add New. You will receive an email inviting them to accept your request. After they accept your request, they will be able login as administrator.

The setup is complete.

Let’s now move on to Step 2.

Step 2 Connect a Processor

If you’ve been following the tutorial closely, go back into the previous tab. At this point, you want to connect a payment processor to enable you to receive payments. Click on the Add Payment Processor button.

You will then be taken to Settings again. The payment integration option can be found here.

To add a processor to your payment page, click on either the +Add New Button or the ADD NEW BUTTON in the top-right corner.

SamCart currently integrates with Stripe, Paypal, and Stripe as of the time this writing.

Click on the Create New button to open a new page.

Click on Stripe or Paypal. Click on Stripe to open this page and log in with your credentials.

Complete the form and you’ll be good to go. Check to make sure that your country appears on Stripe payment acceptance lists.

If you decide to add the two payment options for your customers, that’ll be nice. Customers can choose the preferred payment processor.

Next, let’s move to the next step:

Step 3 – Create a Product

Now return to your dashboard. Return to your dashboard. This is the exciting part.

You should now see the page below after you have clicked on the button.

Click on +New Product.

This page will allow you to enter new product information. Enter the product name, price, and description. Choose whether the payment will be one-time or recurring.

An ebook is a type of product that can be purchased once. A membership or online course, on the other hand, will need recurring payments.

You might need additional information after you’ve added product information.

You’ll see them in the top menu. There are other settings that you can change to complete your checkout.

Let’s start with the product picture. Upload your product image. This image will appear on the SamCart checkout page.

When your customers complete their order on your checkout page, enter a URL address. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If it is a digital product you can upload it immediately. But, if you don’t have a digital product to upload, you can ignore it. Samcart Trial

You can also enable the coupon code option for this stage if you plan to use coupons in marketing.

Once you enable it, you’ll be able to add coupons people can use to buy your product at a discounted price.

Click on the button to Add New Coupon. A pop-up will appear with the following information.

Coupon codes are a great way for businesses to get more customers. Customers love discounts. Think about it: Some customers may be able to buy items they don’t even need simply because the price is lower.

They will say it may become too expensive later on, when they might be in need and don’t have the cash.

So they will likely buy. A great strategy is coupon code marketing. Samcart Trial

You will need to complete the coupon code setup. Choose a coupon code and set the expiration date. Choose the one that best describes what your customer wants.

Not to mention, adding a coupon can be completely optional.

Let’s now move on to the checkout page design.

Click on the Checkout Design tab, then choose from over 18 templates as of the time of this writing. You can choose the one that best suits your brand.

Scroll down to personalize the design. You’ll find a bunch of settings you can edit to match your brand’s voice.

Begin by customizing your colors.

You have the option to choose from predefined color codes or design your own. The best thing about it is that you can use the color picker to choose the color you want, without having to worry about the code.

You can alter the colors of your header, footer and background as well as the buttons.

Next, you want to add some fields including your custom fields remember the “school” field we created previously, we can also add it here to your product page. Check the fields that are active on your checkout page.

You can move on to the next settings your product’s guarantee settings. What guarantee can you give your customers? Are you offering a 30-day money back guarantee? Samcart Trial

You can add that setting here. SamCart, like I mentioned earlier, is designed to encourage conversion. All of these features are features that encourage conversion.

Once that is complete, you are ready to add your terms. Turn it in.

Customers must accept your terms and condition before they are able to purchase your product.

You will need to provide a URL pointing to the location of your terms-and-conditions content.

The link will be at the bottom of the page with the hyperlink “Terms and Condition.” Next, you want to add the payment processor for your checkout page. You don’t have to repeat the steps from step 2 again.

Click on the Payments tab to turn on any active payment options.

PayPal is not active in my case as I haven’t integrated PayPal for this review. Samcart Trial

But, Stripe can be activated if you have it integrated.

You can also add another payment processor. This is for merchants looking to add an additional product. Select an item by clicking on the dropdown menu. Samcart Trial

You wish to add an additional product. Click on the Upsell tab to edit the upsell option. Here is an example of how your upsell product will look like:

It should be an item that customers can add to their shopping basket to compliment the product.

Click on the UpSells tab to edit your Upsells. Add a product, note you should have created the product, just like we created the belly fat product. Click and then add the product.

If you’ve created an upsell funnel, you can add it here too. In this article, we will talk about upsell funnels.

Let’s move on to the next part of the process, which is creating our product checkout pages and then integrating them.

Click on the Integration tab:

You will notice that the MailChimp integration appears in our drop-down list.

From the drop-down menu, you can select which customer list to add or remove from after a purchase.

This will allow you to segment your customer base to send the best marketing emails at the right times to them. Samcart Trial

You’ll also notice that there is no membership integration, Yes, it’s completely optional.

However, if you have a product that requires membership, make sure to integrate your membership portal using this method.

The last section is Advanced.

If you think you’re a rockstar but want to make your checkout page stand out, you can do this here. You can add HTML codes to your checkout pages header or footer.

Here is a script that you could include in the Facebook pixel script and your Google Analytics script. This will help you to get more data to better market.

To promote your products, affiliates can sign up with this link. Once your affiliates have created an Account, they will be notified by email that their application was approved.

Once they have been approved, they will receive their login details Email, password and URL. From there, they can access the accounts and all they need to promote your products.

If you don’t wish to leave them pending, activate automatic approval through your Affiliate dashboard.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on Auto Approval.

Instead of receiving emails advising them that their application is being reviewed, they’ll be approved immediately. The login details for the applicant will be sent immediately to them and they will automatically log in to their dashboard.

How long can you stand it when someone clicks on your affiliate links and doesn’t make a purchase?

Can I, for instance, click on your affiliate hyperlink and then go back to your checkout page after 30 day and make a sale?

You can add that settings here also:

Scroll down in the affiliate dashboard until the Cookie Expiration section. Enter the number and duration of time you wish it to stay.

In the example below, after someone clicks on an affiliate link and the person buys your product anytime within 30 days, it’ll be recorded for your affiliates.
