Create an account

It’s easy to set up a SamCart profile. Log into SamCart.com to create an account.

The pricing page will redirect you to the plan selection page.

You’re not required to make any initial payment before trying it out. Click on any of these plans to be taken the checkout page.

During the 14 day trial, the product will not be charged to your credit card. Remember that you have the right to cancel your subscription at any time during the trial period.

Once you’ve completed the order, you’ll go to a page where you can sign up.

And then you’ll have to create your marketplace. You’ll see a form like the one below.

To get started, fill out the form.

Next, you will need to create a checkout site. Here’s how your SamCart dashboard looks like:

Step 1: Edit settings

Click on the Edit settings button, and the page you want to edit will be displayed in a brand new tab. It won’t take long for you to be taken directly to that page.

Let’s take it step by step.

The Edit page is divided into 5 sections. In the General tab, you can edit quite a wide range of options from your cart logo to your content URL parameters.

Let’s take a look at what you can do in these fields.

i). Marketplace Name. You can always change your Marketplace name.

It’s possible to edit it if necessary.

Next, you will choose the default country for your checkout page. Your customers can change it at any time to their country of choice.

ii). Time Zone: Now, you can select which Time Zone your cart should be using. Samcart Plans

This is important because if you add a product expiry date, your date and time will be counting based on the time zone you specified and you can let your customers know the time zone you’re using.

iii). Support Contact: You will need to enter your support contact email in this field. Add an email address to which customers can contact you easily.

You can add any email of your choice. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: After you register your currency, you will not be able change it. At this point, your currency cannot be changed.

However, SamCart support can be reached to rectify the error.

v Embed HTML/Scripts box: If you are a bit more tech-savvy, and want to add any HTML/JavaScript code into your checkout page’s pages, you can put your code in this Embed HTML/Scripts box.

To make this work, there are no additional settings required. It should work straight out of the box. Samcart Plans

vi This field is for purchase completion. You will need to choose the location where your users will be taken after making a payment. You can choose whether you want your users to go to the original URL or display a summary page with links.

You can also use the Redirect Link ButtonText to let your customers know what to do next.

For example, you can allow them to gain access to the product, allow them to download the digital product they just paid for, join your membership site premium area, etc.

After you have completed this step, you will be ready to go. You can however, configure your marketing data at once if you wish.

You can leave the settings the way they are, you don’t have to bother yourself. But if you want a customized setting you can go ahead and change the values in the fields with any name you desire following the example above.

Once you’re finished editing these settings please save them. The Save button can be found in the upper right corner of this page.

You can then move on to the Integration menu tab. There are many integration options available there.

You should set up the integration as soon as possible so that it is not necessary to do this each time you sell a new product.

Let’s begin by integrating our email-autoresponder software. To add an additional email service, click “+Add New”

Pick the one that’s most relevant to you. After you have signed up with AWeberor MailChimp you will be able to click on it and then follow the instructions for integration.

Let’s just assume MailChimp as your autoresponder.

Modify the integration details for MailChimp if you have selected it from the dropdown menu. Add the integration label to your API key.

You can enter any name you desire for your label. This is what you will use to identify the integration if you choose to use it. It’s best to name it something descriptive. MailChimp Integration is what I will name it. Samcart Plans

Then log into your MailChimp account to get your API key. Log in with your username/password to Mailchimp.com

After you login successfully to your MailChimp email account, you can go to the Extras menu. Here you’ll find API key drop-down lists.

Click on Create a Key to get your API key generated automatically. There is nothing else you need to do.

Copy it and paste into your SamCart integration setup.

That’s it.

If you also want to integrate another platform, the process might be a bit different.

For example, to integrate with Aweber, you don’t have to go get your API key from your dashboard manually, the system just allows you to login and it completes the integration.

These are usually the two ways the integration processes always work, in many cases.

You might want to integrate your product with a membership website if it is.

Scroll down the integration page to locate the Membership link.

Click the + Add New button.

This page will be displayed:

Click on Add Integration and choose the membership platform that you would like to use with your product.

You can enter all the details and click on the “integrate” button. All the required information is in your dashboard. Log in to your OptimizeMember dashboard for all the details.

Next, you can customize your email settings. To access this functionality, click on the Email Tab.

a Email Footer – Here you can edit your footer details, which will be included in all emails you send from your dashboard.

You can edit the popup box by clicking on it.

Next, you will need to create emails which are the same for each customer for certain events. Samcart Plans

You can edit it by clicking on the Edit link.

What happens when processes fail? These are the Dunning Emails, which you use to send emails to customers when processes fail.

You can edit your emails and add custom fields, if you want. If you would like to add custom fields to your checkout page please click the CUSTOM FIELD tab.

Custom Fields Click the + New Button to Add a Field

Pop ups will appear.

Enter the name(s) of the fields you would like to add. However, your customer won’t be able to see the internal field names. Instead, the customer will see the check out label as the field name.

You will see a list with all the items you have selected when you click on it. A drop-down list allows the customer to choose only one item.

A checkbox can contain multiple items that the user can choose from. The customer can decide to choose all of them or choose just one out of all of them.

This is a single-item checkbox.

Once you are done, click on Save.

You can add as many as you wish. But let me warn you, customers hate long forms. Your form shouldn’t be too long.

They’ll likely abandon it. As I have said before, 2/3 of customers will abandon shopping carts.

Don’t add another reason for them to leave. Research shows that 27% of shoppers abandon shopping carts due to it being too complicated or long. Samcart Plans

Keep it simple.

Just enter their email address in the Enter email field and click on Add New. You will receive an email inviting them to accept your request. Once they have accepted your request, they’ll be able to log in as an administrator.

Now you are done with Step 1.

Step 2: Connect to a Processor

If you’ve been following the tutorial closely, go back into the previous tab. Connect a payment processor so you can receive payments. Click on the Add Payment Processor button.

The Settings tab will open again. There you’ll find the payment integration choice.

To add a payment processor, click on the big ADD NEW button or the +Add New Button by the top right corner of the page.

SamCart currently integrates with Stripe, Paypal, and Stripe as of the time this writing.

A page will appear once you click the Create New button.

Click on Stripe or Paypal. If you click Stripe, you will be able to log in using your credentials.

Once you have completed the form, you will be able to start your journey. Check to make sure that your country appears on Stripe payment acceptance lists.

If you decide to add the two payment options for your customers, that’ll be nice. Customers can choose the payment method they prefer.

Let’s continue to the next step.

Step 3: Create a Product

Now, return to your dashboard. Now you will be taken to the Payment processor page. The most exciting part is here: Click on the Add First Product button.

Click on this button to open the next page

Click on “+New Product”.

This page will allow you to enter new product information. Enter the product name, price, and description. And also choose if it’s going to be a one time payment or recurring payment.

A product such as an ebook will likely only be available for one-time payments. However, a product such a membership or online course will likely require a recurring option.

After adding the product information to the page, you might need more information on the next page.

The settings are located at the top of the menu.

Let’s start by looking at the product image. Upload your product image. This image will appear on the SamCart checkout page.

When your customers complete their order on your checkout page, enter a URL address. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If it is a digital product you can upload it immediately. You can ignore this option if the product is not digital. Samcart Plans

You can also enable the coupon code option for this stage if you plan to use coupons in marketing.

After you enable it you can add coupons that people can use for your product at a discount price.

Click the Add New Coupon Button. A pop-up will display the following information:

Promo codes can be a great way of generating more customers for your company. Customers love discounts, just think about it, some customers can buy stuff they don’t even need just because it’s discounted.

They’ll admit that it might become expensive later and may not be able to afford it.

This will make them more likely to want to buy. A great strategy is coupon code marketing. Samcart Plans

To complete the coupon codes setup, select a code and choose whether the coupon will be valid for a single time or a recurring code. Select the option that best describes your product or service.

You can add a coupon at no additional cost.

Let’s get to the checkout page design now:

Click on Checkout Design and choose from one of 18 available templates. Any of the templates you like can be selected.

Scroll down to modify the design. There are many settings that you can modify to make the design more consistent with your brand’s voice.

Start by customizing the colors.

You can either choose from pre-defined color codes, or you can create your own. It even has a color chooser, which allows you to select the exact color you want without having any to do with the color codes.

You can alter the colors of your header, footer and background as well as the buttons.

Next, you will need to add fields. This includes your custom fields. We also have the “school”, which we previously created, that we can add to your product pages. Make sure you check all fields that should be visible on your checkout page.

You can move on to the next settings your product’s guarantee settings. What guarantee can you give your customers? Are you offering a 30 days money back guarantee? Samcart Plans

This setting is available here. SamCart was designed with conversion in mind, as I said earlier. These features all encourage conversion.

To add more bullet points on your Checkout page, you can use the +Add Bolt button.

After you have completed the setup, you can add your terms and conditions. Turn it in.

In the case where you turn it on, a customer must agree to your terms and conditions before they’ll be able to buy your product.

You will need to provide a URL pointing to the location of your terms-and-conditions content.

This link will appear at the bottom on the page. Next, you need to add the payment processor. You won’t need repeat step 2 again.

Simply click on the Payments tab, and you can turn on all active Payment options.

Since I have integrated PayPal only for this review, PayPal is only active in my instance. Samcart Plans

If Stripe is integrated, you will find it active. You can also turn it on.

You can also add another payment processor. This is only for merchants that want to add a second product. Select an item by clicking on the dropdown menu. Samcart Plans

Add an upsell product. Click on the Upsell Tab to edit the Upsell option. Here is an example of how your upsell product will look like:

It should be something that your customers can add in their shopping cart to go with the product.

Edit your Upsells by clicking on the UpSells Tab and editing it. Add a product, note you should have created the product, just like we created the belly fat product. So you just need to click and add it.

You can also add an upsell funnel to this page if you have one. In this article, we will talk about upsell funnels.

Next, let’s take a look at the next step in the process of creating our product checkout page and that’s integration.

Click on the Integration tab:

You will notice that the MailChimp integration appears in our drop-down list.

From the drop-down menu, you can select which customer list to add or remove from after a purchase.

But, if your product has a membership requirement, you need to integrate your member portal using the method that we previously discussed.

The last section is Advanced.

This is the place to go if you are a rockstar and wish to add custom scripts to personalize your checkout page. You can add HTML codes to your checkout pages header or footer.

One important script you could add here in Facebook pixel script or your Google Analytics script to help you acquire more data to do better marketing.

If you do not want to have them pending you can activate automatic approbation in your Affiliate Dashboard.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on Auto Approval.

Instead of receiving email notifications about their application being pending approval (which they might be), they will be approved automatically. The login details for the applicant will be sent immediately to them and they will automatically log in to their dashboard.

What will it take for someone who clicked on your affiliate link and didn’t purchase the first time to be considered an affiliate referral?

You can ask, for example, that if I click on your link and go to your checkout page within 30 days to make a payment, will my referral status be maintained?
