Create an account

It is easy to create a SamCart Account. Log into the website SamCart.com and click on the obvious ‘TRY IT FREE’ button.

The pricing page will redirect you to the plan selection page.

It’s not necessary to pay an initial payment in order to try it. Click on any of these plans to be taken the checkout page.

During the 14 days of the trial period, you will not be charged for the product. You may cancel your subscription within 14 days of the trial.

After you have completed your order, you will be taken to the signup page.

Your marketplace will be created. A form similar to the one shown below will appear.

To get started, fill out the form.

Step 1 Edit Settings

Click on the Edit settings button, and the page you want to edit will be displayed in a brand new tab. Do not worry, the page will be automatically taken to.

Let’s go through it step-by-step.

The Edit page is divided into 5 sections. In the General tab, you can edit quite a wide range of options from your cart logo to your content URL parameters.

Let’s find out what we can do with these fields.

i. Marketplace Name. The Marketplace name can be changed at any time.

If you feel it wasn’t correct, you can still make changes to it.

Then you can select a country to show as the default on your checkout page, and of course, your customers can always change it to whatever country they are in.

ii). Time Zone: You can now select the Time Zone your cart will be working with. Samcart One-click Upsell

This is important because, if you include a product expiry day, your date/time will be calculated based on your time zone. You can inform your customers about the time zone.

iii). Support Contact: Here you will add your support email. Add an email customers can contact you with easily.

You can add any email of your choice. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: Once you’ve registered your currency, it’s important to remember that you cannot change it. You can’t change the currency at this stage.

However, SamCart support can be reached to rectify the error.

v Embed HTML/Scripts field: If you are a little tech-savvy and want to add any HTML or JavaScript code to your checkout page, you can add your code in the Embed HTML/Scripts field.

vi Complete purchase: Here you can select the destination your users will go to after making a purchase. You can choose whether you want your users to go to the original URL or display a summary page with links.

And the Redirect Link Button Text allows you to show your customers what they should do next with a call to action button.

They can be granted access to digital products, such as the product. You also allow them to join your premium area.

You should now be able to move forward. You can also configure your marketing analytics in one go.

The settings can be left as they are. You don’t have to make any changes. If you prefer a custom setting, you can modify the fields using any name you like following the example.

Once you’re finished editing these settings please save them. The Save button appears in the top left corner of your page.

Next, you will be able to go to the Integration Menu tab. There are many options for integrations.

It’s important that you set up the integration now so you don’t have to create it each time you want to sell a new product.

Let’s first integrate our email autoresponder program. To add an email address service, click the + Add New button.

Pick the one that’s most relevant to you. Once you have registered with AWeberor MailChimp click on it to follow the instructions.

Let’s suppose that MailChimp would be your autoresponder choice in this instance.

If you choose MailChimp from the drop-down menu, edit the integration details. Add the integration label and input your API key.

You can enter any name you desire for your label. It’s the name you will use to identify this integration, should you wish to use them. So name it something that’ll be a bit descriptitive. I’ll name mine MailChimp Integration. Samcart One-click Upsell

Log in to your MailChimp account and you will receive your API key. Log into Mailchimp.com by entering your username & password.

Once you have successfully logged into your MailChimp Account, go to the Extras Menu. There you will find API keys in a drop-down menu.

Click on Create a Key to get your API key generated automatically. You don’t have to do anything else.

Copy it and copy it to your SamCart Integration setup.

This is all there is to it.

You might also need to integrate another platform. This process could be slightly different.

To integrate with Aweber for instance, you don’t have to go to your dashboard to find your API key manually. The system simply allows you login and it completes your integration.

These are often the two most common ways in which integration processes work in many situations.

However, if you have a product that is a member site, it might be a good idea to integrate with a members platform.

Scroll down to find the Membership link.

Click on the +Add New button.

And here’s the page:

Click on Add Integration and choose the membership platform that you would like to use with your product.

You can proceed to enter the information and then click the button for integration. All of the necessary information can be found in your dashboard. Log in to OptimizeMember Dashboard to view them.

Next, you will be able to customize your email settings. To access this functionality, click on the Email Tab.

a Email Footer: Here you can edit the footer details that will appear in every email you send from your dashboard, either automatically or manually.

After clicking it, a popup window will open for you to edit.

This could be, for example, when a customer orders are refunded.

Click on the Edit button and edit it.

What happens if processes fail completely? These are the Dunning Emails, which you use to send emails to customers when processes fail.

After you’re done editing your email, you can add custom fields if desired. You can add customized fields to your checkout pages by clicking the CUSTOMFIELDS tab.

Custom Fields Click on the + Create New button to add a field.

A pop up will appear.

Enter the name of your fields. Your customer will not see the internal name but the label for the checkout page will.

A list of items that appear when you click on the field. Understand that for a drop-down list, the customer can only choose one item.

A checkbox will have several options that a user has the option to choose from. Customers have the option to choose from all of them (or just one)

However, this is only a one-item checkbox.

Click Save when you are done.

As many as you like. Let me warn you: Customers hate long forms. Don’t make your form too long.

It’s likely they will abandon it. As I mentioned, 2/3 customers will abandon the shopping cart.

You shouldn’t give customers another reason to abandon your site. One of the main reasons 27% customers abandon shopping carts is that it is too complicated. Samcart One-click Upsell

Please, keep it simple.

Just enter their email address in the Enter email field and click on Add New. The email will be sent to them to confirm your request. After they accept your request, they will be able login as administrator.

This completes Step 1 of the setup process.

Next, let’s move to Step 2:

Step 2 Connect a Processor

If you have been following the tutorial, go back to the previous tab. To receive payments, connect a payment processor. Click on the Add Payment Processor button.

You’ll be taken to the Settings once again and in the integration tab. You will find the payment integration option here.

To add a processor to your payment page, click on either the +Add New Button or the ADD NEW BUTTON in the top-right corner.

SamCart currently integrates with Stripe, Paypal, and Stripe as of the time this writing.

When you click on the Create New tab, a page with this information will pop up:

Click on Stripe and Paypal. Click on Stripe to open this page and log in with your credentials.

Once you have completed the form, you will be able to start your journey. Check to make sure that your country appears on Stripe payment acceptance lists.

It would be great if you could offer both payment options to your customers. Customers have the option to choose their preferred payment processor.

Let’s now move on to the next step.

Step 3: Create a Product

Now return to your dashboard. Return to your dashboard. The most exciting part is here: Click on the Add First Product button.

You should now see the page below after you have clicked on the button.

Click on +New Product.

This page will allow you to enter new product information. Enter the product name, price, and description. Select whether you’d like it to be a onetime payment or a recurring.

A product such as an ebook will likely only be available for one-time payments. However, a product such a membership or online course will likely require a recurring option.

After adding the product information to the page, you might need more information on the next page.

These settings can be found in the top menu.

Let’s begin by uploading the product photo. Upload your product image. The image that will show up like this one one SamCart checkout page:

When your customers complete their order on your checkout page, enter a URL address. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If the product is digital, you can upload it immediately. But, if you don’t have a digital product to upload, you can ignore it. Samcart One-click Upsell

You can also enable the coupon code option for this stage if you plan to use coupons in marketing.

Once you enable it, you’ll be able to add coupons people can use to buy your product at a discounted price.

Click on the button to Add New Coupon. A pop-up will appear with the following information.

Coupon codes are a great way for businesses to get more customers. Discounts are loved by customers. Some customers might even buy products they don’t need because of the discount.

They’ll say, maybe, it might become extremely expensive in the future when they might need it and might not have the cash to buy at that time.

This will make them more likely to want to buy. Coupon code marketing is a fantastic strategy. Samcart One-click Upsell

Setup the coupon code: Select a code to use for your coupon code. Also, choose whether it will be a one-time or recurring coupon code. Choose the best option to describe what you want your customers to receive.

It is entirely optional to add a coupon.

Let’s now get to the checkout page design.

Click on the Checkout Design tab to choose from 18 templates at this time. Any of them can be customized to your brand.

To customize the design, scroll down. You will find many options to customize the design to suit your brand’s voice.

Start by customizing the colors.

You can select from predefined color codes and create your own. The best part is that it has a color picker, you can use this color picker to select the color you want without bothering about the color codes.

You can alter the colors of your header, footer and background as well as the buttons.

Next, you want to add some fields including your custom fields remember the “school” field we created previously, we can also add it here to your product page. Make sure you check all fields that should be visible on your checkout page.

You can move on to the next settings your product’s guarantee settings. What guarantee are they offering your customers Are you offering a guarantee of 30 days? Samcart One-click Upsell

This setting is available here. SamCart was created with conversion in the mind. These features encourage conversion.

You can use the +Add Bullet button to add more points as bullet points to your Checkout page.

After you have completed the setup, you can add your terms and conditions. Now, turn it on.

In the case where you turn it on, a customer must agree to your terms and conditions before they’ll be able to buy your product.

You will need to provide a URL pointing to the location of your terms-and-conditions content.

The link will be located at the bottom with the hyperlink “Terms And Conditions”. Next, you’ll need to add your payment processor for the checkout page. You don’t have to repeat the steps from step 2 again.

Click on the Payments tab to turn on any active payment options.

Because I only used PayPal to review this product, PayPal is the only active option. Samcart One-click Upsell

But if you’ve integrated Stripe, you’ll find it active and you can turn it on as well.

A secondary payment processor can also be added. This is a feature that merchants can use to add an alternate product. Click on the dropdown menu to choose an item. Samcart One-click Upsell

You are adding an upsell product. Click on “Upsell” to edit the upsell options. Here’s an example of what your upsell product might look like.

It should be something that your customers can add in their shopping cart to go with the product.

To edit your Upsells, click on the UpSells tab and edit it. Note that you must have created the product before adding it to the cart. So you just need to click and add it.

It’s possible to add upsell funnels here if you have created one. This article will discuss more about the upsell funnel.

Let’s now look at the next stage in creating our product checkout page, and that’s integration.

Click on the Integration tab

Our MailChimp integration will be visible in the drop-down menu.

The drop-down menu lets you choose which customer list you wish to add after a purchase, refund or to remove after purchase.

Create an account

It’s very easy to create an SamCart account. Log in to SamCart.com. Click on the obvious “Try it Free” button.

The pricing page will redirect you to the plan selection page.

You’re not required to make any initial payment before trying it out. When you click on any one of the plans you will be taken straight to the checkout page.

During the 14 day trial, the product will not be charged to your credit card. You have 14 days to cancel your subscription.

Once you place your order, you’ll be taken on a signup webpage.

You will then need to create your market. Below is an example of the form you’ll find.

Simply fill in the form. Then, click on “Create Marketplace” and you can get started.

Next, create a checkout page. Here is an example of how SamCart’s dashboard will look:

Step 1 – Edit Settings

The Edit Settings button will open a new tab. Do not worry, the page will be automatically taken to.

Let’s continue to go step by step.

The Edit page is divided into 5 sections. The General tab allows you to edit a variety of options, including your cart logo and your content URL parameters.

Let’s take a look at what you can do in these fields.

i Marketplace Name: You can change the Marketplace name at any time. Remember that you added it during your signup process.

It’s possible to edit it if necessary.

The next step is to choose a default country to display on your checkout pages. However, your customers have the option to change this at any time.

ii). Time Zone: Select the Time Zone with which your cart will operate. Samcart One Click Upsell

This is important, because if your product expiry dates are added, the date and time of your products will be counted based upon the time zone specified. Customers can then know which time zone your company uses.

iii). Support Contact. In this area, add your support contact email. Add an email address customers can reach you easily.

Any email address can be added. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: After you register your currency, you will not be able change it. So at this point, you can’t change your currency.

You can change the SamCart support number if you need to.

v Embed HTML/Scripts fields: If you have some technical knowledge and wish to add HTML/JavaScript code to your checkout pages, you can fill in the Embed HTML/Scripts fields.

vi Complete purchase: Here you can select the destination your users will go to after making a purchase. Do you want them to redirect to the original redirect URL or you want to display a summary page with redirect links It’s up to you.

With the Redirect Link Button Text, you can tell your customers what next to do with a call for action button.

They can be granted access to digital products, such as the product. You also allow them to join your premium area.

Once you have done all of this, you are good to go. You can however, configure your marketing data at once if you wish.

You don’t have any need to alter the settings. However, if you wish to create a custom setting, just follow the steps above and replace the names in the fields.

Once you’re finished editing these settings please save them. The Save button is at the top right corner of the page.

The next step is to move to the Integration tab. You will find a lot of integration options there.

It’s important that you set up the integration now so you don’t have to create it each time you want to sell a new product.

Let’s first integrate our email autoresponder program. Click on the + Add New button to add an email service.

Choose the one that applies to you. Once you have registered with AWeberor MailChimp click on it to follow the instructions.

Let’s say that MailChimp was your preferred autoresponder for this example.

Select MailChimp from drop-down menu to edit integration details. Add the integration label to your API key.

For your label, you can use any name that you like. This will be what you use to identify the integration should you choose to. You can name it anything that is descriptive. I’ll name mine MailChimp Integration. Samcart One Click Upsell

Then log into your MailChimp account to get your API key. Log in to Mailchimp.com using your username and password.

After you login successfully to MailChimp, navigate the Extras menu. API keys will be found in the drop down list.

Click on the Create a Key button and the API key will be generated for you automatically. You don’t need to do anything.

Copy it and paste it in your SamCart integration setup.

That’s all there is.

You might also need to integrate another platform. This process could be slightly different.

You don’t even have to go to your dashboard in order to obtain your API Key. Aweber will automatically log you in to complete your integration.

Here’s a good example:

These are two common ways that integration processes work in many cases.

You might want to integrate your product with a membership website if it is.

Scroll down to find the Membership link.

Click on the +Add New button.

This page will appear:

Select the membership platform for your product, then click on Add Integration.

You can proceed to enter the information and then click the button for integration. Your dashboard has all the information. Log in to OptimizeMember Dashboard to view them.

Next, customize the email settings. Click on the Email tab.

a Email Footer Editable: Here you can modify the footer details for every email that you send from dashboard. You can do this either automatically or manually.

You can edit the popup box by clicking on it.

Next, you will need to create emails which are the same for each customer for certain events. Samcart One Click Upsell

For example, when a customer order is refunded.

b Emails Customizable

Click on the Edit button and edit it.

What happens if processes fail completely? This is where you can set up the emails that are sent to customers when processes fail. They are known as Dunning Emails.

c). Dunning Emails

When you are done editing your emails, you can go ahead to add some custom fields if you like. In case you want to add some customized fields to your checkout page, here is where to do it in the CUSTOM FIELDS tab.

To add custom fields, click on the + Create New button.

A pop-up will be displayed.

Please enter the names of the fields that you wish to add. The customer won’t see the internal field name, but the check-out page label will.

The drop-down list will display a list of items when you click on the box. Understand that for a drop-down list, the customer can only choose one item.

A checkbox may contain many items the user can select from. Customers can choose to pick all or one of the items in a checkbox.

This is just one item.

After you have finished, click on Save.

You can add as many as you wish. You should be aware that customers dislike long forms. Be brief.

They will likely abandon their shopping cart. As I said, about 2/3 of all customers will abandon their shopping cart.

Keep it simple.

Enter their email address below and click Add New. You will receive an email inviting them to accept your request. Once they have accepted your request, they’ll be able to log in as an administrator.

Now you are done with Step 1.

Next, let’s get to Step 2

Step 2: Connect a Processor

If you have not been following this tutorial, please go back and open the previous tab. At this point, you want to connect a payment processor to enable you to receive payments. Click on the Add Payment Processor button.

You will then be taken to Settings again. The payment integration option can be found here.

Click on the big ADD New button or the +Add new Button in the upper right corner of the page to add a payment processor.

SamCart has integrated with Stripe (PayPal) and Paypal (as of the writing of this article).

Once you click on the Create New button, a page will pop up showing this:

Click on either Paypal or Stripe. Click on Stripe to open this page and log in with your credentials.

You can start by filling out the form. Check to make sure that your country appears on Stripe payment acceptance lists.

If you’re willing to offer two payment options to customers, it will be a nice touch. Customers can choose the preferred payment processor.

Let’s now move on to the next step.

Step 3 Create a Product

Return to your dashboard. Now you will be taken to the Payment processor page. This is the exciting part.

You should now see the page below after you have clicked on the button.

Click on the +New Products button.

This page is available to you for adding new product information. Enter the name, price, and description of your product. Select whether you’d like it to be a onetime payment or a recurring.

A product like an ebook will most likely be a one time payment type of product, however, a product such as a membership or an online course will most likely require a recurring payment option.

After you have added the product information, it is possible that you will need to provide additional information on the next page.

You can see that at the top menu, they’re other settings you can make to complete your check out.

Let’s start from the product image. Upload your product image. The image will appear exactly as this on the SamCart checkout pages:

You can enter the URL of the webpage your customers will visit when they make their purchase from your checkout page. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If the product is digital you can upload it instantly. But, if you don’t have a digital product to upload, you can ignore it. Samcart One Click Upsell

Finally, at this stage, you can enable coupon codes if your plan is to use coupons as marketing tools.

After you enable it you can add coupons that people can use for your product at a discount price.

Click on the Add New Coupon button. A popup window will open with the following information.

Coupon codes are a great way for businesses to get more customers. Customers love discounts, just think about it, some customers can buy stuff they don’t even need just because it’s discounted.

They’ll tell you that it might get very expensive in future, and they might not have enough money at that time.

So they will likely buy. Marketing with coupon codes is a great strategy. Samcart One Click Upsell

You will need to complete the coupon code setup. Choose a coupon code and set the expiration date. Choose the one that best describes what your customer wants.

Please note that couponing is optional.

Let’s get to the checkout page design now:

Click on the Checkout Design tab, then choose from over 18 templates as of the time of this writing. Any one of these templates can be chosen to suit your brand.

Scroll down to customize the design. There are many settings you can adjust to make your brand voice heard.

You can start by customizing the colors.

You can either choose from pre-defined color codes, or you can create your own. It even has a color chooser, which allows you to select the exact color you want without having any to do with the color codes.

You can change your header color, footer color, background color, headline and buttons color.

Next, add fields. Remember the “school” field that you created earlier? We can add it to your product page. You can check the fields that you wish to make active on your checkout pages.

Next, you can adjust your product’s guarantee settings. Which guarantee do you offer your customers? Are you offering a 30 days money back guarantee? Samcart One Click Upsell

This setting can be added here. Like I told you initially, SamCart is developed with conversion in mind. These features are designed to encourage conversion.

You can use the +Add Bullet button to add more points as bullet points to your Checkout page.

Once that is complete, you are ready to add your terms. Now, turn it on.

If you decide to turn it on, the customer must agree with your terms and conditions before purchasing your product.

Keep in mind that your URL will contain the content of your terms and conditions.

The link will be at the bottom of the page with the hyperlink “Terms and Condition.” Next, you want to add the payment processor for your checkout page. You don’t have to repeat the steps from step 2 again.

You can click on the payments tab and change the active payment options.

In my case, only PayPal is active because I’ve only integrated PayPal for this review. Samcart One Click Upsell

But if you’ve integrated Stripe, you’ll find it active and you can turn it on as well.
