Let’s go a little deep on how to get it all set up:

Create an account

It is easy to create a SamCart Account. Log into SamCart.com to create an account.

You will be redirected directly to the pricing page, where you can select the plan that interests you.

It’s not necessary to pay an initial payment in order to try it. You’ll be taken directly to the checkout page after you click on one of the plans.

You won’t be charged for using the product during the 14-day trial period. And note that you can cancel your subscription within the 14-day of trial.

Once you’ve completed the order, you’ll go to a page where you can sign up.

Then you will need to create your marketplace. This form will look something like the one below.

To get started, fill out the form.

Now, you are fully registered and can use SamCart. Samcart Klaviyo

Next step is to create your checkout page. Here is an example of how SamCart’s dashboard will look:

Step 1: Modify Settings

The Edit Settings button will open a new tab. Don’t worry, you’ll be taken to that page automatically.

Let’s take it step by step.

The Edit page can be divided into five sections. The General tab lets you edit a range of options, from your cart logo to the parameters of your content URL.

Let’s find out what we can do with these fields.

i). Marketplace Name. You can always change your Marketplace name.

You can always edit it if that was not accurate.

Then, you can choose which country will appear as the default for your checkout page. Of course, customers can always change it to another country.

ii). Time Zone: You can now select the Time Zone your cart will be working with. Samcart Klaviyo

This is important, because if your product expiry dates are added, the date and time of your products will be counted based upon the time zone specified. Customers can then know which time zone your company uses.

iii). Support Contact: In this field, you want to add your support contact email. Add an email address customers can reach you easily.

Any email address you choose can be added. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: Once you’ve registered your currency, it’s important to remember that you cannot change it. So at this point, you can’t change your currency.

You can change the SamCart support number if you need to.

v Embed HTML/Scripts: If you’re a bit tech-savvy and would like to add HTML or JavaScript code on your checkout page, then you can use the Embed HTML/Scripts area.

It doesn’t require any additional settings to make it work. It should work right out of the box. Samcart Klaviyo

vi This field is for purchase completion. You will need to choose the location where your users will be taken after making a payment. The choice of whether they want to be redirected to the original redirect URL, or displayed a summary page containing redirect links is up to them.

With the Redirect Link Button Text, you can tell your customers what next to do with a call for action button.

For example, you can allow them to gain access to the product, allow them to download the digital product they just paid for, join your membership site premium area, etc.

You should now be able to move forward. However, if you’d like to instantly configure your marketing analysis, you can do so here.

You can leave the settings the way they are, you don’t have to bother yourself. If you prefer a custom setting, you can modify the fields using any name you like following the example.

Save these settings once you’re done editing them. The Save button appears in the top left corner of your page.

Next, you can move to the Integration menu tab: There are a bunch of integrations options there.

It is important to set up the integration early so that you don’t have it to do each time you need to sell a product.

Let’s begin by integrating our email-autoresponder software. To add an additional email service, click “+Add New”

Choose the one that applies to you. If you’ve signed up with AWeberor MailChimp, you can click on it and follow the instructions for integration.

Let’s just assume MailChimp as your autoresponder.

You can edit the integration details by selecting MailChimp in the drop-down menu. You will need to add an integration label and enter your API code.

Your label can be given any name you want. This is what you will use to identify the integration if you choose to use it. So name it something that’ll be a bit descriptitive. MailChimp Integration is what I will name it. Samcart Klaviyo

To get your API Key, log in to MailChimp. Log into Mailchimp.com by entering your username & password.

After you login successfully to your MailChimp email account, you can go to the Extras menu. Here you’ll find API key drop-down lists.

Click on the Create a Key button and the API key will be generated for you automatically. There is nothing else you need to do.

Copy it and copy it to your SamCart Integration setup.

And that’s all there is to it.

The process may be slightly different if you want to also integrate with another platform.

You don’t even have to go to your dashboard in order to obtain your API Key. Aweber will automatically log you in to complete your integration.

These are usually the two ways the integration processes always work, in many cases.

If your product is a subscription site, you may also wish to integrate with a platform for members.

Scroll down the integration page to locate the Membership link.

Click on + Add New.

And here’s the page:

Select the membership platform for your product, then click on Add Integration.

I can now input the required information and click the Integration button. All necessary information is available in your dashboard. Log in to OptimizeMember Dashboard to view them.

Next, you can customize your email settings. This functionality is available by clicking on the Email tab. Some settings that you can edit are:

a). Email Footer: You can edit the details of your footer that will appear in each email you send using your dashboard.

Once you click it, a popup box will show up for you to edit.

Next, create emails that are consistent for all customers for specific events. Samcart Klaviyo

For example, when a customer order is refunded.

b Emails customizable:

You can edit it by clicking on the Edit link.

What about when processes go sour? This is where you can set up the emails that are sent to customers when processes fail. They are known as Dunning Emails.

c Email Dunning:

When you are done editing your emails, you can go ahead to add some custom fields if you like. If you would like to add custom fields to your checkout page please click the CUSTOM FIELD tab.

Custom Fields: Click on the + Add New button to create a new field.

Pop ups will appear.

Enter the name of your fields. Your customer will not see the internal name but the label for the checkout page will.

A drop-down menu of items will appear when the mouse is pressed on the field. Understand that for a drop-down list, the customer can only choose one item.

A checkbox contains several items that a customer can choose from. Customers have the option to choose from all of them (or just one)

This is just one item.

Click on Save once you are done.

You can add as many as you wish. But let me warn you, customers hate long forms. Do not make your form too long.

They’ll most likely abandon it. As I mentioned, 2/3 customers will abandon the shopping cart.

Don’t add another reason for them to leave. According to the research, 27% of respondents said that they abandon shopping carts because they are too complicated and long. Samcart Klaviyo

Keep it simple.

Simply enter their email address into the Enter email field, and then click on Add New. You will receive an email inviting them to accept your request. Once they have accepted your request, they’ll be able to log in as an administrator.

The setup is complete.

Next, let’s move to Step 2:

Step 2 Connect a Processor

Go back to the previous tab if you’ve been following this tutorial. Connect a payment processor so you can receive payments. Click on the Add Payment Processor button.

You will then be taken to Settings again. Here you will find the Payment Integration option.

To add a Payment Processor, click the big ADDNE button or +Add New Button at the top of the page.

As of the time of this writing, SamCart integrates with two payment processors Paypal and Stripe.

Click on the Create New button to open a new page.

Click on Stripe or Paypal. Clicking on Stripe will bring up a page for you to log in.

The form is easy to fill out. Make sure your country is the list of countries that accept Stripe payments.

You can add both payment options for customers if you choose. Customers can choose which payment processor they prefer.

Let’s now move on to the next step.

Step 3: Create a Product

Now, return to your dashboard. Return to your dashboard. This is the exciting part.

After clicking on the button, you will see the following page.

Click on “+New Product”.

This page will be available for you to add product information. Enter the name, price, and description of your product. And also choose if it’s going to be a one time payment or recurring payment.

An ebook product will be a one-time payment product. However, an online course or membership will require a recurring payment option.

After you have added the product information, it is possible that you will need to provide additional information on the next page.

The settings are located at the top of the menu.

Let’s begin with the product image. Upload your product image. The image will appear exactly as this on the SamCart checkout pages:

You can enter the URL of the webpage your customers will visit when they make their purchase from your checkout page. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If it is a digital product you can upload it immediately. If it isn’t a digital product, however, you can ignore that option. Samcart Klaviyo

Finally, at this stage, you can enable coupon codes if your plan is to use coupons as marketing tools.

When you enable it, people will be able add coupons to your product to get a discount.

Click on the Add New Coupon button, a pop up will show up with the following information:

A great way to increase your customer base is to use coupon codes. Customers love discounts. Think about it: Some customers may be able to buy items they don’t even need simply because the price is lower.

They’ll tell you that it might get very expensive in future, and they might not have enough money at that time.

They’ll most likely be motivated to purchase. Coupon code marketing can be a powerful strategy. Samcart Klaviyo

You will need to complete the coupon code setup. Choose a coupon code and set the expiration date. Select the option that best describes your product or service.

Not to mention, adding a coupon can be completely optional.

Let’s get to the checkout page design now:

Click on Checkout Design to open a selection of over 18 templates. Any of them can be customized to your brand.

To customize the design, scroll down. You will find many options to customize the design to suit your brand’s voice.

You can start by customizing the colors.

You can choose from the pre-defined colors or make your own. It has a colour picker that allows you to pick the color you wish without having to remember the color codes.

You can modify the color of your header, footer or background, as well as your buttons.

Next, add fields. Remember the “school” field that you created earlier? We can add it to your product page. Make sure you check all fields that should be visible on your checkout page.

You can move on to the next settings your product’s guarantee settings. What guarantee are you giving your customers? Do you offer a 30-day money-back guarantee? Samcart Klaviyo

You can add that setting here. SamCart was built with conversions in mind. These features all encourage conversion.

You can add bullet points to the Checkout page by clicking on +Add Bullet.

Once everything is done, you will be able to add your terms. Now, turn it on.

In the case where you turn it on, a customer must agree to your terms and conditions before they’ll be able to buy your product.

Remember that you will provide a URL to where your terms & conditions content is hosted.

You will find the link at the bottom of your page under the hyperlink “Terms & Conditions.” Next, add the payment processor to your checkout page. It’s not necessary to repeat the steps that you did in step 2.

You can click on the payments tab and change the active payment options.

PayPal is not active in my case as I haven’t integrated PayPal for this review. Samcart Klaviyo

You can activate Stripe if Stripe has already been integrated.

You can also add another payment processor. This option is for merchants who wish to add a secondary product. Select an item by clicking on the dropdown menu. Samcart Klaviyo

You are adding an upsell product. Click on the Upsell tab to edit the upsell option. Here’s an example how your upsell product would look:

It should be a product your customers add to their cart to complement the product.

Click on the UpSells tab to edit your Upsells. You must add a product. Simply click to add it.

This is where you can add any upsell funnels you have created. We’ll talk more on upsell funnel later in this article.

Next, let’s look at integration.

Click the Integration tab

You’ll see that our MailChimp Integration is appearing in the dropdown list.

You can choose from the drop down menu which customer list you want to include after a sale or refund, and then remove them after purchase.

This will enable your to segment your customers to send better marketing emails to the right people at the right time. Samcart Klaviyo

You’ll also notice that there is no membership integration, Yes, it’s completely optional.

However, if your product is a membership-based product, it is important to integrate your portal using the methods we’ve discussed.

The Advanced section is the last section.

You can now add a video to increase conversion. There are many other settings that you can adjust here to improve your chances of selling to your customers.

Once you’re done filling in the form, enable it and save it.

This is it! Your upsell has been created. Each time you want to create a new product you can easily add it to your product.

Once they are approved, they will be sent their login details email, password, and login URL so they can access their accounts.

If you do not want to have them pending you can activate automatic approbation in your Affiliate Dashboard.

Scroll down to your affiliate dashboard, and you will see a slide called Auto Approval that you can toggle on/off.

So instead of receiving email notifications that they’re application is pending approval, they’ll automatically be approved. Their login details will be sent to them immediately and they’ll be logged in automatically to their dashboard.

Here’s how the dashboards of your affiliates will look once they login.

How long will you like someone who clicked on your affiliate links without purchasing the first time to be regarded as the affiliate referral when they eventually register?
