Create an account

It is very simple to create a SamCart. Log into SamCart.com to create an account.

You will be redirected directly to the pricing page, where you can select the plan that interests you.

It’s not necessary to pay an initial payment in order to try it. After clicking on any plan, you will be taken to checkout.

During the 14 days of the trial period, you will not be charged for the product. You can cancel your subscription anytime during the 14-day trial period.

You’ll be taken directly to a signup page once you have placed your order.

And then you’ll have to create your marketplace. This form will look something like the one below.

To get started, fill out the form.

Step 1: Edit Settings

The Edit Settings button will open a new tab. Be assured that you will automatically be taken there.

Let’s do it step by step.

The Edit page is broken into five sections. You can edit many options in the General tab. These include your cart logo, your content URL parameters and more.

Let’s take a look at what you can do in these fields.

i Marketplace Name. The Marketplace name can be changed at any time.

You can edit it if it’s not correct.

Then you can select a country to show as the default on your checkout page, and of course, your customers can always change it to whatever country they are in.

This is important, because if your product expiry dates are added, the date and time of your products will be counted based upon the time zone specified. Customers can then know which time zone your company uses.

iii). Support Contact: In this field, you want to add your support contact email. Add an email address to which customers can contact you easily.

Any email address can be added. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: After you register your currency, you will not be able change it. You can’t change the currency at this stage.

However, if you want to change it, you should be able to do that by contacting the SamCart support team.

v Embed HTML/Scripts fields: If you have some technical knowledge and wish to add HTML/JavaScript code to your checkout pages, you can fill in the Embed HTML/Scripts fields.

vi). Complete purchase: Here you can select the destination your users will go to after making a purchase. You can choose whether you want your users to go to the original URL or display a summary page with links.

With the Redirect Link Button, you can show your customers what to click next using a call to actions button.

They can be granted access to digital products, such as the product. You also allow them to join your premium area.

Once you’ve completed these steps, you should feel confident and ready to go. But if you need to quickly configure your marketing analytics, you can do this as well.

You can keep the settings as they are. You can customize the settings by changing the names of the fields as shown in the example.

Save these settings once you’re done editing them. The Save button is located at the top-right corner of the page.

You can then move on to the Integration menu tab. There are many integration options available there.

It is important to set up the integration early so that you don’t have it to do each time you need to sell a product.

Let’s get started with the integration of our email autoresponder software. To add an Email Service, click on “+ Add New”.

Pick the one that’s most relevant to you. You can click the link if you have signed up for AWeberor MailChimp and follow the instructions to integrate.

Let’s pretend that MailChimp is the autoresponder of your choice in this example.

Select MailChimp from drop-down menu to edit integration details. Add the integration label to your API key.

Your label can be given any name you want. That’s what you’ll use to identify this integration in case you want to use it. So name it something that’ll be a bit descriptitive. MailChimp Integration is what I will name it. Samcart Import Products

To get your API Key, log in to MailChimp. Go to Mailchimp.com and log in with your username and password.

After you log in successfully to your MailChimp account, navigate to the Extras menu. You’ll find API keys at the drop-down.

Click on the Create Key button to generate the API key for you automatically. There is nothing else you need to do.

Copy it and copy it to your SamCart Integration setup.

And that’s it.

It might take a little longer if you are also looking to integrate another platform.

For example, to integrate with Aweber, you don’t have to go get your API key from your dashboard manually, the system just allows you to login and it completes the integration.

These are often the two most common ways in which integration processes work in many situations.

If your product is a subscription site, you may also wish to integrate with a platform for members.

Scroll down to find the Membership link.

Click on + Add New.

The page will then appear as follows:

Select the membership platform for your product, then click on Add Integration.

You can proceed to enter the information and then click the button for integration. Your dashboard has all the information. Log into OptimizeMember to see them.

Next, you can now customize your email settings. Click on the Email tab.

a Email Footer Editable: Here you can modify the footer details for every email that you send from dashboard. You can do this either automatically or manually.

Once you click the button, a popup will appear for you to modify.

What about when processes go sour? Here are Dunning Emails. These emails are for customers who experience failure in processes.

After you’re done editing your email, you can add custom fields if desired. Here’s where you can add custom fields to the checkout page.

A pop-up will appear.

Enter the names of fields you wish to add. While the customer won’t see the inner field name, the customer’s check out page label will show it as the field title.

You will see a list with all the items you have selected when you click on it. The customer can only select one item from a drop-down menu.

A checkbox contains several items that a customer can choose from. The customer can decide to choose all of them or choose just one out of all of them.

This is just one item.

After you’re done, click Save.

As many as possible can be added. But let me warn you, customers hate long forms. Don’t make your form too long.

They’ll most likely abandon it. Like I stated earlier, 2 out of 3 customers will abandon their shopping cart.

You shouldn’t give customers another reason to abandon your site. One of the main reasons 27% customers abandon shopping carts is that it is too complicated. Samcart Import Products

Keep it simple.

Enter their email address below and click Add New. Once they accept your request, you will be sent an email. After they accept your request, they will be able login as administrator.

This completes Step 1 of the setup process.

Next, let’s move on to Step 2

Step 2 Connect a Processor

If you’ve been following this tutorial, you can go back to the first tab. Connect a payment processor so you can receive payments. Click the Add Payment Processor button.

You’ll be taken to the Settings once again and in the integration tab. You will find the payment integration option here.

To add a payment processing processor, click the big ADD NEW button in the top right corner.

SamCart has integrated with Stripe (PayPal) and Paypal (as of the writing of this article).

After clicking on the Create New link, a page will open showing you this:

Click on either Paypal or Stripe. If you click on Stripe, this page will show up for you to login your credentials.

The form is easy to fill out. Check to make sure that your country appears on Stripe payment acceptance lists.

If you decide to add the two payment options for your customers, that’ll be nice. Customers can choose which payment processor they prefer.

Let’s now move on to the next step.

Step 3: Create a product

Now return to the dashboard. You will be redirected to Payment processor page. The most exciting part is here: Click on the Add First Product button.

Click that button and you’ll see the following page.

Click on “+New Product”.

This page will allow you to enter new product information. Enter the product name, price and description. And also choose if it’s going to be a one time payment or recurring payment.

A product such as an ebook will likely only be available for one-time payments. However, a product such a membership or online course will likely require a recurring option.

Once you add the product information, you might need to add more information in the next page that’ll show up.

The settings are located at the top of the menu.

Let’s begin by uploading the product photo. Upload your product image. The image that will show up like this one one SamCart checkout page:

When customers make a purchase on your checkout page they will be directed to a specific webpage. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If it is a digital product you can upload it immediately. However, if it’s not a digital product, you can ignore that option. Samcart Import Products

Final note: If you are going to use coupon codes for marketing purposes, you can enable this option.

After you enable it you can add coupons that people can use for your product at a discount price.

Click on the Add New Coupon button, a pop up will show up with the following information:

Coupon codes are a great way for businesses to get more customers. Customers love discounts. Think about it: Some customers may be able to buy items they don’t even need simply because the price is lower.

They’ll say, maybe, it might become extremely expensive in the future when they might need it and might not have the cash to buy at that time.

You will need to complete the coupon code setup. Choose a coupon code and set the expiration date. Choose the one that best describes what your customer wants.

Please note that couponing is optional.

Let’s get to the checkout page design now:

Click on Checkout Design and choose from one of 18 available templates. Any one of these templates can be chosen to suit your brand.

Scroll down to customize the design. You will find many options to customize the design to suit your brand’s voice.

Start by customizing colors.

You can either choose from pre-defined color codes, or you can create your own. The best part is that it has a color picker, you can use this color picker to select the color you want without bothering about the color codes.

You can change your header color, footer color, background color, headline and buttons color.

Next, add some fields. Check all the fields you want to be active on your checkout page.

After you have completed the setup, you can add your terms and conditions. Now, turn it on.

When you turn it on, customers must agree to your terms before they can purchase your product.

You will need to provide a URL pointing to the location of your terms-and-conditions content.

The link is located at bottom of the page. It will include the hyperlink “Terms, Conditions”. Next you will need to add payment processors for your checkout page. Don’t worry, you won’t need to go through the steps you went through in step two again.

Just click on the Payments tab and turn the Payment options that are active on.

Because I only used PayPal to review this product, PayPal is the only active option. Samcart Import Products

However, if Stripe has been integrated into your system, it will be active and you can turn the on/off switch.

It is possible to add a second payment processor. This is a feature that merchants can use to add an alternate product. Select an item by clicking on the dropdown menu. Samcart Import Products

You wish to add an additional product. Click on “Upsell” to edit the upsell options. Here is an example showing how your upsell products will look:

You can choose from the drop down menu which customer list you want to include after a sale or refund, and then remove them after purchase.

After the page loads, scroll down to find the fields for your affiliates and where they can sign up.

You’ll get something similar if you put the link to the signup page in your browser. However, it will be with your product name.

To promote your products and register as affiliates, click the link. Once your affiliates register, they’ll be notified about a successful registration. Also, their application is pending approval.

Once they are approved, they will be sent their login details email, password, and login URL so they can access their accounts.

If you don’t wish to leave them pending, activate automatic approval through your Affiliate dashboard.

To edit this settings, scroll down to the bottom of your affiliate dashboard and you’ll find a slide named Auto Approval you can toggle on or off:

Instead of being notified by email that their application is pending approval they will be automatically approved. They’ll receive their login details right away and will be automatically logged into their dashboard.

Here’s how your affiliates dashboards look after they login.

How long can you stand it when someone clicks on your affiliate links and doesn’t make a purchase?

For example, if I click on your affiliate link and return to your checkout page after 30 days and make a purchase, will I still be regarded as your referral?

You can add that settings here also:

Scroll down until you find the Cookie Expiration option in your affiliate dashboard. You can set the time it should last.

In the example below, after someone clicks on an affiliate link and the person buys your product anytime within 30 days, it’ll be recorded for your affiliates.
