Create an account

It’s very easy to create an SamCart account. Log into SamCart.com. Click the “Try It Free” button.

You’re not required to make any initial payment before trying it out. Once you click on any of the plans, you’ll be taken to the checkout page.

During the 14-day trial, you won’t have to pay anything for the product. Remember that you have the right to cancel your subscription at any time during the trial period.

Once you’ve completed the order, you’ll go to a page where you can sign up.

Then you will need to create your marketplace. Below is an example of the form you’ll find.

Simply fill in the form. Then, click on “Create Marketplace” and you can get started.

Step 1: Edit Settings

The Edit Settings button will open a new tab. Be assured that you will automatically be taken there.

The Edit page is broken into five sections. In the General tab, you can edit quite a wide range of options from your cart logo to your content URL parameters.

i. Marketplace Name: You can change the Marketplace name at any time. Remember that you added it during your signup process.

If you feel it wasn’t correct, you can still make changes to it.

Then, you can choose which country will appear as the default for your checkout page. Of course, customers can always change it to another country.

ii Time Zone: This allows you to choose the Time Zone in which your cart will function. Samcart Fulton Md

This is important since if you add a product expired date, your date/time and time will be calculated based off the timezone you specified. You can tell your customers the timezone you are using.

iii). Support Contact: Add your support contact email to this field. You can add an email address that customers can easily contact you.

Any email address you choose can be added. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: After you register your currency, you will not be able change it. You can’t change the currency at this stage.

You may change your SamCart account by contacting our support team.

v). Embed HTML/Scripts box: If you are a bit more tech-savvy, and want to add any HTML/JavaScript code into your checkout page’s pages, you can put your code in this Embed HTML/Scripts box.

vi This field is for purchase completion. You will need to choose the location where your users will be taken after making a payment. If you would like them to go back to the original URL, you can display a summary page or include redirect links. It’s your choice.

You can also use the Redirect Link ButtonText to let your customers know what to do next.

For example, you can allow them to gain access to the product, allow them to download the digital product they just paid for, join your membership site premium area, etc.

You should now be able to move forward. You can however, configure your marketing data at once if you wish.

You don’t have any need to alter the settings. If you prefer a custom setting, you can modify the fields using any name you like following the example.

Once you’re done editing these settings, please save the settings. The Save button is located in the top right corner.

The next step is to move to the Integration tab. You will find a lot of integration options there.

It’s important that you set up the integration now so you don’t have to create it each time you want to sell a new product.

Let’s begin with integrating our autoresponder email software. To add an Email Service, click on “+ Add New”.

Pick the one that best suits you. Click on the icon if you’ve already signed up with AWeberor MailChimp to proceed with integration.

Let’s say that MailChimp was your preferred autoresponder for this example.

Modify the integration details for MailChimp if you have selected it from the dropdown menu. Add the integration label to your API key.

Your label can be given any name you want. You will use this name to identify your integration, in the event that you decide to use it. You can name it anything that is descriptive. MailChimp Integration, I will call mine. Samcart Fulton Md

You will then need to log in to your MailChimp email account in order for your API key. Log into Mailchimp.com by entering your username & password.

After you login successfully to your MailChimp email account, you can go to the Extras menu. Here you’ll find API key drop-down lists.

Click on the Create Key button, and an API key will automatically be generated. There is nothing else you need to do.

Copy it and copy it to your SamCart Integration setup.

That’s it.

It might take a little longer if you are also looking to integrate another platform.

You don’t even have to go to your dashboard in order to obtain your API Key. Aweber will automatically log you in to complete your integration.

These are two common ways that integration processes work in many cases.

However, if you have a product that is a member site, it might be a good idea to integrate with a members platform.

Scroll down until you find the link to join.

Click on the +Add New button.

The page will then appear as follows:

Click on Add Integration and choose the membership platform that you would like to use with your product.

I can continue to input the information and click on “Integrate” All necessary information is available in your dashboard. Log into your OptimizeMember dashboard to get them.

Next, you can now customize your email settings. Click on the Email tab.

a Email Footer – Here you can edit your footer details, which will be included in all emails you send from your dashboard.

After clicking it, a popup window will open for you to edit.

To edit the file, click on the Edit button.

What about when processes break down? This is where you can set up the emails that are sent to customers when processes fail. They are known as Dunning Emails.

After editing your emails are complete, you can add custom field if you would like. You can add customized fields to your checkout pages by clicking the CUSTOMFIELDS tab.

Custom Fields Click the + New Button to Add a Field

A pop-up will appear.

Enter the names of fields you wish to add. While the customer won’t see the inner field name, the customer’s check out page label will show it as the field title.

A drop-down menu of items will appear when the mouse is pressed on the field. A drop-down list allows the customer to choose only one item.

A checkbox contains several items that a customer can choose from. You have the option of choosing all of them or one from each.

It is a checkbox for one item.

After you have finished, click on Save.

You can add as many as you wish. I warn you that customers don’t like long forms. Be brief.

They will most likely abandon the cart. Like I stated earlier, 2 out of 3 customers will abandon their shopping cart.

Don’t add another reason for them to leave. Research shows that 27% of shoppers abandon shopping carts due to it being too complicated or long. Samcart Fulton Md

Keep it simple.

Just enter their email address in the Enter email field and click on Add New. Once they accept your request, you will be sent an email. Once they have accepted your request, they’ll be able to log in as an administrator.

The setup is complete.

Next, let us move on to step 2:

Step 2: Connect a Processor

Go back to the previous tab if you’ve been following this tutorial. Now you will connect a pay processor to allow you to receive payments. Click on the Add payment processor button.

Once again, you’ll be taken back to the Settings and the Integration tab. There you’ll find the payment integration choice.

Click on the big ADD New button or the +Add new Button in the upper right corner of the page to add a payment processor.

SamCart has integrated with Stripe (PayPal) and Paypal (as of the writing of this article).

Click on the Create New button to open a new page.

Click on Stripe, or Paypal. You can login to Stripe by clicking on Stripe if you click Stripe.

You can start by filling out the form. Check to make sure that your country appears on Stripe payment acceptance lists.

If you decide to add the two payment options for your customers, that’ll be nice. Customers can choose their preferred payment payment processor.

Let’s next move to the next:

Step 3 Create a Product

Now return to your dashboard. Now you will be taken to the Payment processor page. Here’s the fun part: click on the Add first Product Button.

After clicking on the button, you will see the following page.

Click on the +New Products button.

This page will show up for you to add new product information. Enter the product name, price, and description. Also, choose whether you want a one-time or recurring payment.

An ebook product will be a one-time payment product. However, an online course or membership will require a recurring payment option.

Once you add the product information, you might need to add more information in the next page that’ll show up.

You can see that at the top menu, they’re other settings you can make to complete your check out.

Let’s begin with the product image. Upload your product image. This image will appear on the SamCart checkout page.

When customers make a purchase on your checkout page they will be directed to a specific webpage. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If it is a digital product you can upload it immediately. If it’s not a product in digital format, you have the option to ignore that option. Samcart Fulton Md

Final note: If you are going to use coupon codes for marketing purposes, you can enable this option.

When you enable it, people will be able add coupons to your product to get a discount.

Click the Add New Coupon Button. A pop-up will display the following information:

A great way to increase your customer base is to use coupon codes. Customers love discounts, just think about it, some customers can buy stuff they don’t even need just because it’s discounted.

They’ll say, maybe, it might become extremely expensive in the future when they might need it and might not have the cash to buy at that time.

They’ll most likely be motivated to purchase. Marketing with coupon codes is a great strategy. Samcart Fulton Md

Complete the coupon setup: Pick a code for your coupon, and select whether it is a one time coupon or a regular coupon. Choose the option that best describes the product you are offering your customers.

Next, add fields. Remember the “school” field that you created earlier? We can add it to your product page. Check the fields that are active on your checkout page.

The link is located at bottom of the page. It will include the hyperlink “Terms, Conditions”. Next you will need to add payment processors for your checkout page. You won’t need repeat step 2 again.

You can click on the payments tab and change the active payment options.

You can activate Stripe if Stripe has already been integrated.

You can add a secondary payment processor as well. This is specifically for those merchants who want to add an alternative secondary product. Click on the drop-down menu to select an item. Samcart Fulton Md

You wish to add an additional product. To edit the upsell option, click on the Upsell tab. This is how an upsell product should look like:

It should be a product your customers add to their cart to complement the product.

Edit your Upsells by clicking on the UpSells Tab and editing it. Note that you must have created the product before adding it to the cart. So you just need to click and add it.

You can also include an upsell channel if you’ve already created it. In this article, we will talk about upsell funnels.

Let’s move on to the next part of the process, which is creating our product checkout pages and then integrating them.

Click on the Integration tab:

You’ll be able to see our MailChimp integration in the drop down list.

You can choose from the drop down menu which customer list you want to include after a sale or refund, and then remove them after purchase.

However, if you have a product that requires membership, make sure to integrate your membership portal using this method.

The Advanced section is the last section.

This is the place to go if you are a rockstar and wish to add custom scripts to personalize your checkout page. You can add HTML codes or scripts to the header and footer of your checkout page.

One important script you could add here in Facebook pixel script or your Google Analytics script to help you acquire more data to do better marketing.

Once you’re done filling out the form, enable and save the settings.

Once they are approved, they will be sent their login details email, password, and login URL so they can access their accounts.

If you do not want to have them pending you can activate automatic approbation in your Affiliate Dashboard.

To edit this settings, scroll down to the bottom of your affiliate dashboard and you’ll find a slide named Auto Approval you can toggle on or off:

Instead of being notified by email that their application is pending approval they will be automatically approved. Their login details will be sent to them immediately and they’ll be logged in automatically to their dashboard.
