Create an account

Step 1 – Edit Settings

To edit the page, click on the Edit Settings button. A new tab will open. Be assured that you will automatically be taken there.

Let’s take it step by step.

The Edit page is broken into five sections. You can edit the General tab to change a lot of things, such as your cart logo or your content URL parameters.

Let’s check out what you can change in these fields:

i). Marketplace Name. You can always change your Marketplace name.

You can always edit it if that was not accurate.

Next, you will choose the default country for your checkout page. Your customers can change it at any time to their country of choice.

This is important since if you add a product expired date, your date/time and time will be calculated based off the timezone you specified. You can tell your customers the timezone you are using.

iii). Support Contact. In this area, add your support contact email. You can add an email address that customers can easily contact you.

Any email can be added. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: It’s also important to note that you won’t be able to change your currency after you set it during registration. You can’t change the currency at this stage.

v). Embed HTML/Scripts Field: If your tech skills are limited and you want to add HTML or JavaScript code onto your checkout page you can do so in the Embed HTML/Scripts section.

Next, you can now customize your email settings. To access this functionality, click on the Email Tab.

a Email Footer: This is where you can edit and change the footer information that will appear in every email sent from your dashboard.

Click it to open a popup box that you can edit.

You can edit it by clicking on the Edit link.

What happens when processes fail? These are where you will set the email messages that customers receive when processes fail.

After you’re done editing your email, you can add custom fields if desired. In case you want to add some customized fields to your checkout page, here is where to do it in the CUSTOM FIELDS tab.

Custom Fields: Click on the + Add New button to create a new field.

A pop up will show up.

Please enter the names of the fields that you wish to add. The customer won’t see the internal field name, but the check-out page label will.

A list of items that appear when you click on the field. A drop-down list allows the customer to choose only one item.

A checkbox may contain many items the user can select from. The customer can decide to choose all of them or choose just one out of all of them.

This is a single-item checkbox.

Click Save when you are done.

You can add as many as possible. Let me warn you: Customers hate long forms. Be brief.

They’ll likely abandon it. As I mentioned earlier, two thirds of customers abandon their shopping cart.

Do not add another reason why they might leave. As one of the reasons 27% of customers in the research say they leave a shopping cart is because it’s too long and complicated. Samcart For Physical Products

Enter their email address below and click Add New. The email will be sent to them to confirm your request. Once they do, they should be able to login as an administrator, too.

Now you are done with Step 1.

Let’s now move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Connect a Processor

If you’ve been following this tutorial, you can go back to the first tab. You will need to connect a processor in order to receive payments. Click the Add Payment Processor button.

You’ll be taken to the Settings once again and in the integration tab. There you’ll find the payment integration choice.

To add a payment processor, click on the big ADD NEW button or the +Add New Button by the top right corner of the page.

SamCart currently integrates with Stripe, Paypal, and Stripe as of the time this writing.

Click on the Create New button to open a new page.

Click on Stripe or Paypal. Click on Stripe to open this page and log in with your credentials.

Fill in the form and you should be ready to go. Make sure your country is the list of countries that accept Stripe payments.

You can add both payment options for customers if you choose. Customers can choose which payment processor they prefer.

Let’s continue to the next step.

Step 3 – Create a Product

Now, return to your dashboard. You will be redirected to Payment processor page. Here’s the fun part: click on the Add first Product Button.

Click on this button to open the next page

Click on the +New Products button.

This page will be available for you to add product information. Enter the product name and price. And also choose if it’s going to be a one time payment or recurring payment.

A product like an ebook will most likely be a one time payment type of product, however, a product such as a membership or an online course will most likely require a recurring payment option.

After you have added the product information, it is possible that you will need to provide additional information on the next page.

You’ll see them in the top menu. There are other settings that you can change to complete your checkout.

Let’s start with the product picture. Upload your product image. This image will appear on the SamCart checkout page.

You can enter the URL of the webpage your customers will visit when they make their purchase from your checkout page. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

You can upload the product immediately if it is a digital one. You can ignore this option if the product is not digital. Samcart For Physical Products

You can also enable the coupon code option for this stage if you plan to use coupons in marketing.

Once you enable it, you’ll be able to add coupons people can use to buy your product at a discounted price.

Click the Add New Coupon Button. A pop-up will display the following information:

Promo codes can be a great way of generating more customers for your company. Customers love discounts, just think about it, some customers can buy stuff they don’t even need just because it’s discounted.

They’ll say, maybe, it might become extremely expensive in the future when they might need it and might not have the cash to buy at that time.

Affiliates can register by following the link to promote your products. Once an affiliate creates an account they’ll receive notification of successful registration and that approval is pending.

Once they have been approved they will receive their login credentials Email, password, login URL. This allows them to access their accounts, as well as everything else they need, in order to promote your products.

You can however activate automatic approval from your Affiliate dashboard if you don’t want them to remain pending.

Scroll down to your affiliate dashboard, and you will see a slide called Auto Approval that you can toggle on/off.

Instead of receiving emails advising them that their application is being reviewed, they’ll be approved immediately. Their login details will be sent to them immediately and they’ll be logged in automatically to their dashboard.

How long will you wait for someone who clicked your affiliate links but didn’t buy the first time to become an affiliate referee when they register?

You can ask, for example, that if I click on your link and go to your checkout page within 30 days to make a payment, will my referral status be maintained?
