Create an account

It’s easy to set up a SamCart profile. Log into the website SamCart.com and click on the obvious ‘TRY IT FREE’ button.

You’ll be taken to the pricing page. Here you can choose which plan you would like to try.

Before you can try it, you don’t need to make an initial payment. After clicking on any plan, you will be taken to checkout.

During the 14 days of the trial period, you will not be charged for the product. And note that you can cancel your subscription within the 14-day of trial.

Once you complete the order you’ll be taken to a signup page.

You will then need to create your market. Below is an example of the form you’ll find.

Fill out the form and once you’re done, click “Create Marketplace” to get started.

Next, you will need to create a checkout site. Here’s how your SamCart dashboard looks like:

Step 1: Modify Settings

The Edit Settings button will open a new tab. Be assured that you will automatically be taken there.

Let’s continue to go step by step.

The Edit page has five sections. You can edit the General tab to change a lot of things, such as your cart logo or your content URL parameters.

Let’s look at the fields you can edit:

i). Marketplace Name: The Marketplace name is something you can always change, remember you added it in your signup process, right?

You can still edit it if you think that wasn’t accurate.

The next step is to choose a default country to display on your checkout pages. However, your customers have the option to change this at any time.

ii Time Zone: Now you can choose the Time Zone that your cart will work with. Samcart Basic Plan

This is important because if you add a product expiry date, your date and time will be counting based on the time zone you specified and you can let your customers know the time zone you’re using.

iii). Support Contact: In this field, you want to add your support contact email. Add an email address so customers can easily reach you.

You can add any email you like. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: After you register your currency, you will not be able change it. At this point, your currency cannot be changed.

You can change the SamCart support number if you need to.

v Embed HTML/Scripts field: If you are a little tech-savvy and want to add any HTML or JavaScript code to your checkout page, you can add your code in the Embed HTML/Scripts field.

vi This field is for purchase completion. You will need to choose the location where your users will be taken after making a payment. Do you want them to redirect to the original redirect URL or you want to display a summary page with redirect links It’s up to you.

You can also use the Redirect Link ButtonText to let your customers know what to do next.

They can be granted access to digital products, such as the product. You also allow them to join your premium area.

You should now be able to move forward. But if you need to quickly configure your marketing analytics, you can do this as well.

If you choose MailChimp from the drop-down menu, edit the integration details. You will need to add an integration label and enter your API code.

You can enter any name you desire for your label. You will use this name to identify your integration, in the event that you decide to use it. So name it something that’ll be a bit descriptitive. MailChimp Integration will become my MailChimp Integration. Samcart Basic Plan

You will then need to log in to your MailChimp email account in order for your API key. Log into Mailchimp.com by entering your username & password.

After you login successfully to your MailChimp email account, you can go to the Extras menu. Here you’ll find API key drop-down lists.

Click on the Create Key button, and an API key will automatically be generated. The API key will be generated automatically for you.

Copy it and paste it in your SamCart integration setup.

This is all there is to it.

You might also need to integrate another platform. This process could be slightly different.

You don’t have the need to go to your dashboard and get your API keys manually to integrate with Aweber. Instead, the system allows you to login to complete the integration.

These are two common ways that integration processes work in many cases.

If your product is a subscription site, you may also wish to integrate with a platform for members.

Scroll down until you find the link to join.

Click on the +Add New button.

And this page will show up:

Select the membership platform for your product, then click on Add Integration.

You can enter all the details and click on the “integrate” button. All the required information is in your dashboard. Log in to your OptimizeMember dashboard for all the details.

Next, customize the email settings. To access this functionality, click on the Email Tab.

a Email Footer – Here you can edit your footer details, which will be included in all emails you send from your dashboard.

After clicking it, a popup window will open for you to edit.

Click on the Edit button and edit it.

What about when processes break down? These are where you will set the email messages that customers receive when processes fail.

c Dunning Emails:

When you are done editing your emails, you can go ahead to add some custom fields if you like. If you wish to add customized fields on your checkout page, this is the place to do it.

Custom Fields: Click on the + Add New button to create a new field.

A pop up will appear.

Enter the name of the fields you want to add, the internal field name won’t be seen by your customer but the check out page label will be shown to the customer as the field name.

A list of items that appear when you click on the field. You should know that a drop-down listing allows only one item to be selected by the customer.

A checkbox can contain multiple items that the user can choose from. The customer can decide to choose all of them or choose just one out of all of them.

However, this is only a one-item checkbox.

Click Save when you are done.

As many as possible can be added. I warn you that customers don’t like long forms. Your form shouldn’t be too long.

It’s likely they will abandon it. As I have said before, 2/3 of customers will abandon shopping carts.

Don’t add another reason for them to leave. The research shows that 27% leave shopping carts when they find it too difficult or lengthy. Samcart Basic Plan

Keep it simple.

Simply enter their email address into the Enter email field, and then click on Add New. The email will be sent to them to confirm your request. Once they do, they should be able to login as an administrator, too.

You are done with Step one in the setup process.

Next, let us move on to step 2:

Step 2: Connect to a Processor

Go back to the previous tab if you’ve been following this tutorial. Connect a payment processor so you can receive payments. Click on the Add Payment Processor button.

Once again, you’ll be taken back to the Settings and the Integration tab. The payment integration option can be found here.

To add a processor to your payment page, click on either the +Add New Button or the ADD NEW BUTTON in the top-right corner.

As of the time of this writing, SamCart integrates with two payment processors Paypal and Stripe.

After clicking on the Create New link, a page will open showing you this:

Click on either Paypal or Stripe. You can login to Stripe by clicking on Stripe if you click Stripe.

You can start by filling out the form. Make sure your country is the list of countries that accept Stripe payments.

You can add both payment options for customers if you choose. Customers have the option to choose their preferred payment processor.

Let’s next move to the next:

Step 3: Create A Product

Now return to your dashboard. The Payment processor page will redirect you from your dashboard. The most exciting part is here: Click on the Add First Product button.

Click on this button to open the next page

Click on “+New Product”.

This page will be available for you to add product information. Enter the product name and price. Also, choose whether you want a one-time or recurring payment.

A product such an ebook will typically be a one-time purchase type. However, a product like a membership, or an online course, will likely require a regular payment option.

After adding the product information to the page, you might need more information on the next page.

As you can see, there are additional settings you can choose to complete your check-out.

Let’s start from the product image. Upload your product image. The image that will show up like this one one SamCart checkout page:

Enter a webpage address your customers will be taken to when they complete their purchase on your checkout page. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If it is a digital product you can upload it immediately. You can ignore this option if the product is not digital. Samcart Basic Plan

You can also enable the coupon code option for this stage if you plan to use coupons in marketing.

After you enable it you can add coupons that people can use for your product at a discount price.

Click on the Add New Coupon button, a pop up will show up with the following information:

Coupon codes are a great way for businesses to get more customers. Discounts are a favorite with customers. Just think, some customers will buy things they don’t need because it’s cheap.

They’ll admit that it might become expensive later and may not be able to afford it.

So they’ll likely want to buy. Coupon code marketing is a fantastic strategy. Samcart Basic Plan

To complete the coupon codes setup, select a code and choose whether the coupon will be valid for a single time or a recurring code. Choose the one that best describes what your customer wants.

Not to mention, adding a coupon can be completely optional.

Let’s move on to the checkout pages design.

Click on the Checkout Design tab and then select from more than 18 templates at the time of writing. You can choose any one of them that suits your brand.

Scroll down for more options. There are many settings that you can modify to make the design more consistent with your brand’s voice.

Start by customizing colors.

You can either choose from pre-defined color codes, or you can create your own. It even has a color chooser, which allows you to select the exact color you want without having any to do with the color codes.

You can change the color for your header, footer, background and headline as well.

Next, add fields. Remember the “school” field that you created earlier? We can add it to your product page. Check the fields that are active on your checkout page.

Next, you can adjust your product’s guarantee settings. What guarantee are they offering your customers Are you offering a guarantee of 30 days? Samcart Basic Plan

This setting can be added to the site. SamCart, like I mentioned earlier, is designed to encourage conversion. These features encourage conversion.

To add bullet points to your Checkout pages, you can click the +Add Bullet button

Once that is complete, you are ready to add your terms. Turn on.

If you decide to turn it on, the customer must agree with your terms and conditions before purchasing your product.

Keep in mind that your URL will contain the content of your terms and conditions.

The link will be at the bottom of the page with the hyperlink “Terms and Condition.” Next, you want to add the payment processor for your checkout page. Do not worry about repeating the steps in step 2.

Just click on the Payments tab and turn the Payment options that are active on.

Only PayPal is active in my case because I have only integrated PayPal to this review. Samcart Basic Plan

You can activate Stripe if Stripe has already been integrated.

It is possible to add a second payment processor. This is a feature that merchants can use to add an alternate product. Click on the drop-down menu to select an item. Samcart Basic Plan

You want to add an upsell product. Click on “Upsell” to edit the upsell options. Here is an example showing how your upsell products will look:

Let’s now look at the next stage in creating our product checkout page, and that’s integration.

You’ll notice that our MailChimp integration is showing up with our list in the drop-down list.

You can choose from the drop-down menu which list you want to add customers to after a purchase or refund and to remove them from after purchase or refund.

You’ll also notice that there is no membership integration, Yes, it’s completely optional.

However, if your product is a membership-based product, it is important to integrate your portal using the methods we’ve discussed.

The last section is the Advanced section:

A script you could include here in Facebook’s pixel script or in your Google AnalyticsScript to help with better marketing.

To promote your products, affiliates can sign up with this link. Once your affiliates creates an account, they’ll be notified of a successful registration and that their application is pending approval.

Once approved, they’ll receive their login information Email, password, URL, where they can access and promote your products.

However, if you don’t want to keep them pending, you can activate automatic approval in your Affiliate dashboard.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on Auto Approval.

Instead of receiving emails advising them that their application is being reviewed, they’ll be approved immediately. They will immediately receive their login information and be logged in to the dashboard.

How long can you stand it when someone clicks on your affiliate links and doesn’t make a purchase?

Can I, for instance, click on your affiliate hyperlink and then go back to your checkout page after 30 day and make a sale?

This setting can be modified as well:

Scroll down on your affiliate dashboard to find the Cookie Expiration button. Enter the number and duration of time you wish it to stay.

In the example below, after someone clicks on an affiliate link and the person buys your product anytime within 30 days, it’ll be recorded for your affiliates.
