Create an account
Creating a SamCart account is pretty easy. Log into SamCart.com to create an account.
You’ll then be redirected the pricing page to choose the plan that you wish to test.
The initial payment is not necessary before you try the product. After clicking on any plan, you will be taken to checkout.
You won’t be charged for using the product during the 14-day trial period. And note that you can cancel your subscription within the 14-day of trial.
You’ll be taken directly to a signup page once you have placed your order.
And then you’ll have to create your marketplace. You’ll see a form like the one below.
Simply fill in the form. Then, click on “Create Marketplace” and you can get started.

Next is creating a checkout webpage. Here is an example of how SamCart’s dashboard will look:
As you can see, it takes only three steps to create your checkout pages.
Step 1: Edit settings
Click on the Edit settings button, and the page you want to edit will be displayed in a brand new tab. You’ll automatically be taken to the page.
Let’s take it step by step.
The Edit page has five sections. The General tab allows you to edit a variety of options, including your cart logo and your content URL parameters.
Let’s look at the fields you can edit:
i). Marketplace Name. You can always change your Marketplace name.
You can still edit it if you think that wasn’t accurate.
Then, you can choose which country will appear as the default for your checkout page. Of course, customers can always change it to another country.

This is important as if you add an expiry date to your product, it will count based on the time zone that you specify. You can also let your customers know which time zone you use.
iii). Support Contact: Here you will add your support email. Add an email address so customers can easily reach you.
You can add any email you like. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]
iv). Currency: It’s also important to note that you won’t be able to change your currency after you set it during registration. After you register, you cannot change your currency.
However, if you want to change it, you should be able to do that by contacting the SamCart support team.

vi Buy completion: This is where you will direct your customers after they make a purchase. The choice of whether they want to be redirected to the original redirect URL, or displayed a summary page containing redirect links is up to them.
With the Redirect Link Button Text, you can tell your customers what next to do with a call for action button.
For example, you can allow them to gain access to the product, allow them to download the digital product they just paid for, join your membership site premium area, etc.
After you have completed this step, you will be ready to go. You can also configure your marketing analytics in one go.
You can keep the settings as they are. However, if you wish to create a custom setting, just follow the steps above and replace the names in the fields.
After you are done editing the settings, please save them. The Save button can be found in the upper right corner of this page.

To get your API Key, log in to MailChimp. Log in to Mailchimp.com with your username, password and email address.
After you log in successfully to your MailChimp account, navigate to the Extras menu. You’ll find API keys at the drop-down.
Click on Create a Key to get your API key generated automatically. You don’t need to do anything.
Copy it and copy it to your SamCart Integration setup.
And that’s all there is to it.
It might take a little longer if you are also looking to integrate another platform.
For example, to integrate with Aweber, you don’t have to go get your API key from your dashboard manually, the system just allows you to login and it completes the integration.

These are typically the two methods that integrate in many cases.
However, if you have a product that is a member site, it might be a good idea to integrate with a members platform.
Scroll down the integration page until you find the Membership link.
Click on the +Add New button.
This page will be displayed:
Select the membership platform you want to use for your product and click on Add Integration.
I can go ahead and input the necessary information and click on the integration button. Your dashboard contains all the information you need. Log in to OptimizeMember Dashboard to view them.
Next, you can customize your email settings. Click on the Email tab to access this function. You can modify the following settings:
a). Email Footer: You can edit the details of your footer that will appear in each email you send using your dashboard.
Once you click the button, a popup will appear for you to modify.

If a customer has an order that is cancelled, it will be refunded.
b Emails Customizable
Click on the Edit button and edit it.
What about when processes break down? This is where you can set up the emails that are sent to customers when processes fail. They are known as Dunning Emails.
c Emails to Dupes
When you are done editing your emails, you can go ahead to add some custom fields if you like. Here’s where you can add custom fields to the checkout page.
Custom Fields Click on the + Create New button to add a field.
A pop-up will be displayed.
Please enter the names of the fields that you wish to add. The customer won’t see the internal field name, but the check-out page label will.
A drop-down list of items appears when you click the field. You should know that a drop-down listing allows only one item to be selected by the customer.
A checkbox may contain many items the user can select from. You have the option of choosing all of them or one from each.
This is a single item checkbox though.
After you’re done, click Save.
You can add as many as you wish. I warn you that customers don’t like long forms. Don’t make your form too long.
They’ll most likely abandon it. As I mentioned, 2/3 customers will abandon the shopping cart.

Keep it simple.
Enter their email address below and click Add New. The email will be sent to them to confirm your request. Once they accept the request, they should also be able register as an administrator.
Now you are done with Step 1.
Let’s now move on to Step 2.
Step 2: Connect a Processor
If you have not been following this tutorial, please go back and open the previous tab. At this point, you want to connect a payment processor to enable you to receive payments. Click on the Add payment processor button.
You will be taken back to Settings. You will find the payment integration option here.
Click on the big ADD New button or the +Add new Button in the upper right corner of the page to add a payment processor.
SamCart is currently integrated with Stripe and Paypal as payment processors.
When you click on the Create New tab, a page with this information will pop up:
Click on Stripe, or Paypal. You can login to Stripe by clicking on Stripe if you click Stripe.

The form is easy to fill out. Verify that your country is listed in Stripe’s accepted countries.
If you’re willing to offer two payment options to customers, it will be a nice touch. Customers have the option to choose their preferred payment processor.
Next, let’s move to the next step:
Step 3 Create a Product
Now return to your dashboard. You will be redirected to Payment processor page. This is the exciting part.
Click on this button to open the next page
Click on the +New Products button.
This page will be available for you to add product information. Enter the product name and price. Choose whether the payment will be one-time or recurring.
An ebook is a type of product that can be purchased once. A membership or online course, on the other hand, will need recurring payments.
Once you add the product information, you might need to add more information in the next page that’ll show up.
You can see that at the top menu, they’re other settings you can make to complete your check out.
Let’s begin with the product image. Upload your product image. This is the image that will be displayed on SamCart’s checkout page.
Enter a webpage address your customers will be taken to when they complete their purchase on your checkout page. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

Final note: If you are going to use coupon codes for marketing purposes, you can enable this option.
After you enable it you can add coupons that people can use for your product at a discount price.
Click on “Add New Coupon” to open a pop-up with the following details:
You can generate more customers by using coupon codes. Discounts are very popular with customers.
They’ll tell you that it might get very expensive in future, and they might not have enough money at that time.

To complete the coupon codes setup, select a code and choose whether the coupon will be valid for a single time or a recurring code. Choose the best option to describe what you want your customers to receive.
It is entirely optional to add a coupon.
Let’s now move on to the checkout page design.
Click on Checkout Design to open a selection of over 18 templates. You can choose any one of them that suits your brand.
Scroll down to modify the design. You’ll find a bunch of settings you can edit to match your brand’s voice.
You can begin by customizing the color.
You can choose the predefined color codes or create your own colors. It has a colour picker that allows you to pick the color you wish without having to remember the color codes.
You can change your header color, footer color, background color, headline and buttons color.
Next, you want to add some fields including your custom fields remember the “school” field we created previously, we can also add it here to your product page. Check all fields you would like to see on your checkout webpage.

You can add that setting here. SamCart, like I mentioned earlier, is designed to encourage conversion. These features encourage conversion.
You can add bullet points to the Checkout page by clicking on +Add Bullet.
After you have completed the setup, you can add your terms and conditions. Now, turn it on.
If you decide to turn it on, the customer must agree with your terms and conditions before purchasing your product.
Remember that you will provide a URL to where your terms & conditions content is hosted.
The link is located at bottom of the page. It will include the hyperlink “Terms, Conditions”. Next you will need to add payment processors for your checkout page. You don’t have to repeat the steps from step 2 again.
Click on the Payments tab to turn on any active payment options.

If Stripe is integrated, you will find it active. You can also turn it on.

You are adding an upsell product. Click on the Upsell Tab to edit the Upsell option. Here’s an example of what your upsell product might look like.
It should be an item that customers can add to their shopping basket to compliment the product.
To modify your Upsells click on the UpSellstab and edit it. You must add a product. So you just need to click and add it.
It’s possible to add upsell funnels here if you have created one. We’ll be discussing the upsell channel later in this article.

SamCart customers have an affiliate signup webpage where potential affiliates can sign up.
Log in to your dashboard to access this page. Navigate to the AFFILIATES section in the menu bar.
Once the page is loaded, scroll down the page to locate the fields where affiliates can login and the area where they will sign up.
If you place the signup link in the browser, you will see something similar but with your product title.
You can invite affiliates to register using this link and start promoting your products. Once your affiliates creates an account, they’ll be notified of a successful registration and that their application is pending approval.

Once they have been approved, they will receive their login details Email, password and URL. From there, they can access the accounts and all they need to promote your products.
You can however activate automatic approval from your Affiliate dashboard if you don’t want them to remain pending.
Scroll to the bottom of your affiliate dashboard to edit these settings. You’ll see a slide called “Auto Approval” that you can toggle off or on:
Instead of being notified by email that their application is pending approval they will be automatically approved. Their login details will be sent to them immediately and they’ll be logged in automatically to their dashboard.
