Create an account

It’s easy to set up a SamCart profile. Log in to SamCart.com, and click the “TRY IT FREE” button.

Next step is to create your checkout page. This is how your SamCart dashboard should look.

Step 1 Edit Settings

Click on the Edit settings button, and the page you want to edit will be displayed in a brand new tab. Do not worry, the page will be automatically taken to.

Let’s do it step by step.

The Edit page is broken into five sections. In the General tab, you can edit quite a wide range of options from your cart logo to your content URL parameters.

Let’s see what you can edit in this fields:

i. Marketplace Name. You can always change your Marketplace name.

Then you can select a country to show as the default on your checkout page, and of course, your customers can always change it to whatever country they are in.

This is important because if you add a product expiry date, your date and time will be counting based on the time zone you specified and you can let your customers know the time zone you’re using.

iii). Support Contact: In this field, you want to add your support contact email. Add an email address so customers can easily reach you.

Any email can be added. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: It’s also important to note that you won’t be able to change your currency after you set it during registration. You can’t change the currency at this stage.

You can change the SamCart support number if you need to.

v Embed HTML/Scripts field: If you are a little tech-savvy and want to add any HTML or JavaScript code to your checkout page, you can add your code in the Embed HTML/Scripts field.

vi Purchase completion: In this field, you want to select where your users will be taken to after making a purchase. It is up to you whether you want them to go directly to the original URL, or to display a summary page that contains redirect links.

You can also use the Redirect Link ButtonText to let your customers know what to do next.

For example, they can gain access to your product, download the digital product that they have purchased, and join your premium section.

Once you’ve completed these steps, you should feel confident and ready to go. However, if you’d like to instantly configure your marketing analysis, you can do so here.

You don’t need to change the settings. You can customize the settings by changing the names of the fields as shown in the example.

Once you’re done editing these settings, please save the settings. The Save button can be found in the upper right corner of this page.

Next, you will be able to go to the Integration Menu tab. There are many options for integrations.

You need to make sure you have the integration set up now, so it doesn’t take you too long to add new products.

Let’s start with integrating our email autoresponder software. To add an email address service, click the + Add New button.

Select the one that is most applicable to you. After you have signed up with AWeberor MailChimp you will be able to click on it and then follow the instructions for integration.

Let’s suppose that MailChimp would be your autoresponder choice in this instance.

You can edit the integration details by selecting MailChimp in the drop-down menu. Add the integration name and your API Key.

You can enter any name to your label. It’s the name you will use to identify this integration, should you wish to use them. Give it a descriptive name. MailChimp Integration will become my MailChimp Integration. Better Than Samcart

You will then need to log in to your MailChimp email account in order for your API key. Log into Mailchimp.com by entering your username & password.

After you log in successfully to your MailChimp account, navigate to the Extras menu. You’ll find API keys at the drop-down.

Click on the Create Key button to generate the API key for you automatically. It’s that easy!

Copy it and copy it to your SamCart Integration setup.

That’s it.

You might also need to integrate another platform. This process could be slightly different.

To integrate with Aweber for instance, you don’t have to go to your dashboard to find your API key manually. The system simply allows you login and it completes your integration.

These are typically the two methods that integrate in many cases.

A membership site is one example of a product you might consider integrating with.

Scroll down the integration page until you find the Membership link.

Click on the +Add New button.

The page will then appear as follows:

Select the membership platform you want to use for your product and click on Add Integration.

You can enter all the details and click on the “integrate” button. Your dashboard contains all the information you need. Log into your OptimizeMember dashboard to get them.

Next, customize the email settings. Click on the Email tab to access this function. You can modify the following settings:

a Email Footer: You can edit the details of your footer that will appear in each email you send using your dashboard.

Once you click it, a popup box will show up for you to edit.

Next, you need to create emails that will always remain the same for every customer for certain events. Better Than Samcart

If a customer has an order that is cancelled, it will be refunded.

b). Emails with customisable content

You can edit it by clicking on the Edit link.

What about when processes break down? This is where you can set up the emails that are sent to customers when processes fail. They are known as Dunning Emails.

Once you are done editing emails, you can add any custom fields you wish. In case you want to add some customized fields to your checkout page, here is where to do it in the CUSTOM FIELDS tab.

Custom Fields To create a new field, click the + Create button

Pop ups will appear.

Enter the names of fields you wish to add. While the customer won’t see the inner field name, the customer’s check out page label will show it as the field title.

You will see a list with all the items you have selected when you click on it. The customer can only select one item from a drop-down menu.

A checkbox will have several options that a user has the option to choose from. You have the option of choosing all of them or one from each.

This is a single item checkbox though.

After you’re done, click Save.

As many as you like. However, long forms are not liked by customers. Your form shouldn’t be too long.

They’ll likely abandon it. As I said, about 2/3 of all customers will abandon their shopping cart.

Do not give them another reason to leave. The research shows that 27% leave shopping carts when they find it too difficult or lengthy. Better Than Samcart

Keep it simple.

Just enter their email address in the Enter email field and click on Add New. They’ll receive an email to accept your request. After they accept your request, they will be able login as administrator.

You’re done with Step 1 in the setup process.

Let’s now move on to Step 2.

Step 2 Connect a Processor

If you’ve been following this tutorial, you can go back to the first tab. To receive payments, connect a payment processor. Click on “Add Payment Processor”

The Settings tab will open again. Where you can find the payment integration option.

To add a payment processing processor, click the big ADD NEW button in the top right corner.

SamCart currently integrates with Stripe, Paypal, and Stripe as of the time this writing.

A page will appear once you click the Create New button.

Click on Stripe and Paypal. If you click on Stripe, this page will show up for you to login your credentials.

Don’t know where to get the credentials? Better Than Samcart

The form is easy to fill out. Verify that your country is listed in Stripe’s accepted countries.

If you decide to add the two payment options for your customers, that’ll be nice. Customers can choose their preferred payment payment processor.

Let’s now move on to the next step.

Step 3 – Create a Product

Now go back to your dashboard. Now you will be taken to the Payment processor page. Here’s the fun part: click on the Add first Product Button.

Click on this button to open the next page

Click on “+New Product”.

This page is available to you for adding new product information. Enter the product name and price. Choose whether the payment will be one-time or recurring.

A product such as an ebook will likely only be available for one-time payments. However, a product such a membership or online course will likely require a recurring option.

Once you have entered the product information you may need to update the next page.

You’ll see them in the top menu. There are other settings that you can change to complete your checkout.

Let’s start with the product picture. Upload your product image. The image you upload will look exactly like the one on SamCart’s checkout page.

Enter the address of the website your customers will see when they click on your checkout button. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If the product is digital, you can upload it immediately. If it isn’t a digital product, however, you can ignore that option. Better Than Samcart

Finally, at this stage, you can enable coupon codes if your plan is to use coupons as marketing tools.

After you enable it you can add coupons that people can use for your product at a discount price.

Click the Add New Coupon Button. A pop-up will display the following information:

Promo codes can be a great way of generating more customers for your company. Discounts are very popular with customers.

They’ll tell you that it might get very expensive in future, and they might not have enough money at that time.

So they’ll likely want to buy. A great strategy is coupon code marketing. Better Than Samcart

You will need to complete the coupon code setup. Choose a coupon code and set the expiration date. Choose the option that best describes the product you are offering your customers.

Not to mention, adding a coupon can be completely optional.

Let’s move on to the checkout pages design.

Click on the Checkout Design tab, then choose from over 18 templates as of the time of this writing. Any one of these templates can be chosen to suit your brand.

Scroll down for more options. There are many settings you can adjust to make your brand voice heard.

Start by customizing the colors.

You can either choose from pre-defined color codes, or you can create your own. The best thing about it is that you can use the color picker to choose the color you want, without having to worry about the code.

You can change the color of the header, footer, background, headline, and your buttons color.

Next, you’ll need to add some fields, including custom fields. If you remember the “school”, we can also add this to your product page. Check the fields that are active on your checkout page.

Next, you can adjust your product’s guarantee settings. What guarantee are they offering your customers Is your guarantee a 30-day guarantee or a money-back guarantee? Better Than Samcart

You can add this setting here. SamCart was designed with conversion in mind, as I said earlier. These features are designed to encourage conversion.

To add more bullet points on your Checkout page, you can use the +Add Bolt button.

After you have completed the setup, you can add your terms and conditions. Turn in on.

When you turn it on, customers must agree to your terms before they can purchase your product.

You will need to provide a URL pointing to the location of your terms-and-conditions content.

This link will appear at the bottom on the page. Next, you need to add the payment processor. Do not worry about repeating the steps in step 2.

Simply click on the Payments tab, and you can turn on all active Payment options.

Because I only used PayPal to review this product, PayPal is the only active option. Better Than Samcart

However, if Stripe has been integrated into your system, it will be active and you can turn the on/off switch.

You can also add a secondary payment processing processor. This is for merchants looking to add an additional product. Click on the dropdown menu to choose an item. Better Than Samcart

Add an upsell product. Click on “Upsell” to edit the upsell options. Here’s an example of what your upsell product might look like.

It should be an item your customers can add to their shopping cart to compliment the product they’ve bought.

Click on the UpSells tab to edit your Upsells. You must add a product. Simply click to add it.

If you’ve created an upsell funnel, you can add it here too. In this article, we will talk about upsell funnels.

Let’s now look at the next stage in creating our product checkout page, and that’s integration.

Click on the Integration tab

You’ll see that our MailChimp Integration is appearing in the dropdown list.

You can choose from the drop down menu which customer list you want to include after a sale or refund, and then remove them after purchase.

If you do not want to have them pending you can activate automatic approbation in your Affiliate Dashboard.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on Auto Approval.

Instead of receiving email notifications about their application being pending approval (which they might be), they will be approved automatically. They will immediately receive their login information and be logged in to the dashboard.
