Create an account

It is very simple to create a SamCart. Log into SamCart.com. Click the “Try It Free” button.

You’ll be redirected to the pricing page where you can choose the plan you want to try.

Before you can try it, you don’t need to make an initial payment. Click on any of these plans to be taken the checkout page.

During the 14 days of the trial period, you will not be charged for the product. And note that you can cancel your subscription within the 14-day of trial.

You’ll be taken directly to a signup page once you have placed your order.

Next, you’ll need to create a marketplace. This form will look something like the one below.

Please fill out this form. Once you’re done click “Create Marketplace”.

Next is creating a checkout webpage. Here’s how your SamCart dashboard looks like:

Step 1: Modify Settings

The Edit Settings button will open a new tab. You’ll automatically be taken to the page.

Let’s do it step by step.

The Edit page is divided into 5 sections. In the General tab, you can edit quite a wide range of options from your cart logo to your content URL parameters.

Let’s find out what we can do with these fields.

i). Marketplace Name: The Marketplace name is something you can always change, remember you added it in your signup process, right?

It’s possible to edit it if necessary.

Then you can select a country to show as the default on your checkout page, and of course, your customers can always change it to whatever country they are in.

ii). Time Zone: Now you can choose the Time Zone that your cart will work with. Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

This is important as if you add an expiry date to your product, it will count based on the time zone that you specify. You can also let your customers know which time zone you use.

iii). Support Contact: Add your support contact email to this field. You can add an email address that customers can easily contact you.

Any email address you choose can be added. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: Once you’ve registered your currency, it’s important to remember that you cannot change it. So at this point, you can’t change your currency.

You may change your SamCart account by contacting our support team.

v Embed HTML/Scripts field: If you are a little tech-savvy and want to add any HTML or JavaScript code to your checkout page, you can add your code in the Embed HTML/Scripts field.

vi You can also choose where you want your customers to go after they have completed their purchase. It is up to you whether you want them to go directly to the original URL, or to display a summary page that contains redirect links.

With the Redirect Link Button, you can show your customers what to click next using a call to actions button.

You could allow them access to the product, let them download the digital product they purchased, or invite them to your premium area.

After you have completed this step, you will be ready to go. You can however, configure your marketing data at once if you wish.

The settings can be left as they are. You don’t have to make any changes. But if you want a customized setting you can go ahead and change the values in the fields with any name you desire following the example above.

Save the settings after you have finished editing. The Save button appears in the top left corner of your page.

Next, you can move to the Integration menu tab: There are a bunch of integrations options there.

You need to make sure you have the integration set up now, so it doesn’t take you too long to add new products.

Let’s begin with integrating our autoresponder email software. Click on the + Add New button to add an email service.

Choose the one that applies to you. If you’ve signed up with AWeberor MailChimp, you can click on it and follow the instructions for integration.

Let’s assume that MailChimp is your autoresponder of choice for this example.

Modify the integration details for MailChimp if you have selected it from the dropdown menu. You will need to add an integration label and enter your API code.

You can enter any name to your label. It’s the name you will use to identify this integration, should you wish to use them. Give it a descriptive name. MailChimp Integration will become my MailChimp Integration. Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

To get your API Key, log in to MailChimp. Log in to Mailchimp.com with your username, password and email address.

Once you login successfully into your MailChimp account navigate to the Extras menu and you’ll find API keys in the drop-down list.

Click on the Create Key button to generate the API key for you automatically. There is nothing else you need to do.

Copy the code and paste it into your SamCart integration configuration.

And that’s it.

The process may be slightly different if you want to also integrate with another platform.

You don’t have the need to go to your dashboard and get your API keys manually to integrate with Aweber. Instead, the system allows you to login to complete the integration.

These are two common ways that integration processes work in many cases.

A membership site is one example of a product you might consider integrating with.

Scroll down to find the Membership link.

Click on + Add New.

And here’s the page:

Click on Add Integration to select the membership platform you wish to use for your product.

You can proceed to enter the information and then click the button for integration. All the required information is in your dashboard. Log into OptimizeMember to see them.

Next, customize your email settings. Click on the Email tab to access this function. You can modify the following settings:

a Email Footer: Here you can edit the footer details that will appear in every email you send from your dashboard, either automatically or manually.

Once you click it, a popup box will show up for you to edit.

Next, you will need to create emails which are the same for each customer for certain events. Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

This could be, for example, when a customer orders are refunded.

b Emails that can be customized

You can edit it by clicking on the Edit link.

What about when processes break down? This is where you can set up the emails that are sent to customers when processes fail. They are known as Dunning Emails.

c Emails to Dupes

You can edit your emails and add custom fields, if you want. If you wish to add customized fields on your checkout page, this is the place to do it.

Custom Fields: Click on the + Add New button to create a new field.

Pop ups will appear.

Enter the name of your fields. Your customer will not see the internal name but the label for the checkout page will.

You will see a list with all the items you have selected when you click on it. You should know that a drop-down listing allows only one item to be selected by the customer.

A checkbox will contain several items that a user can choose from. Customers can choose to pick all or one of the items in a checkbox.

This is just one item.

After you have finished, click on Save.

As many as you like. However, long forms are not liked by customers. Do not make your form too long.

They’ll likely abandon it. As I said, about 2/3 of all customers will abandon their shopping cart.

Do not add another reason why they might leave. According to the research, 27% of respondents said that they abandon shopping carts because they are too complicated and long. Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

Please, be simple.

Enter their email address in Enter email and click on the Add New button. The email will be sent to them to confirm your request. Once they have accepted your request, they’ll be able to log in as an administrator.

This completes Step 1 of the setup process.

Next, let’s move to Step 2:

Step 2 Connect a Processor

If you’ve been following this tutorial, you can go back to the first tab. You will need to connect a processor in order to receive payments. Click on the Add Payment Processor button.

You’ll be taken to the Settings once again and in the integration tab. Here you will find the Payment Integration option.

Click on the big ADD New button or the +Add new Button in the upper right corner of the page to add a payment processor.

SamCart now integrates with Stripe and Paypal.

When you click on the Create New tab, a page with this information will pop up:

Click on Stripe or Paypal. Clicking on Stripe will bring up a page for you to log in.

Fill in the form and you should be ready to go. Make sure your country is the list of countries that accept Stripe payments.

You can add both payment options for customers if you choose. Customers can choose the payment method they prefer.

Let’s next move to the next:

Step 3: Create a Product

Now go back to your dashboard. Return to your dashboard. This is the exciting part.

Once you click on that button, you should see the following page:

Click on the +New Products button.

This page will allow you to enter new product information. Enter the product name and price. Also, choose whether you want a one-time or recurring payment.

A product like an ebook will most likely be a one time payment type of product, however, a product such as a membership or an online course will most likely require a recurring payment option.

After you have added the product information, it is possible that you will need to provide additional information on the next page.

You’ll see them in the top menu. There are other settings that you can change to complete your checkout.

Let’s begin with the product image. Upload your product image. This is the image that will be displayed on SamCart’s checkout page.

When customers make a purchase on your checkout page they will be directed to a specific webpage. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If it is a digital product you can upload it immediately. But, if you don’t have a digital product to upload, you can ignore it. Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

Finally, at this stage, you can enable coupon codes if your plan is to use coupons as marketing tools.

You can enable it to allow people to use coupons to purchase your product at a reduced price.

Click the Add New Coupon Button. A pop-up will display the following information:

A great way to increase your customer base is to use coupon codes. Discounts are a favorite with customers. Just think, some customers will buy things they don’t need because it’s cheap.

They will say it may become too expensive later on, when they might be in need and don’t have the cash.

So they’ll probably want to purchase. Marketing with coupon codes is a great strategy. Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

Setup the coupon code: Select a code to use for your coupon code. Also, choose whether it will be a one-time or recurring coupon code. Choose the option that best describes what you want to offer your customers.

You can add a coupon at no additional cost.

Let’s now move on to the checkout page design.

Click on the Checkout Design tab, then choose from over 18 templates as of the time of this writing. Any of them can be customized to your brand.

Scroll down to customize the design. You can customize the settings to fit your brand’s voice.

Start by customizing the colors.

You can select from predefined color codes and create your own. It even has a color chooser, which allows you to select the exact color you want without having any to do with the color codes.

You can alter the colors of your header, footer and background as well as the buttons.

Next, you want to add some fields including your custom fields remember the “school” field we created previously, we can also add it here to your product page. You can check the fields that you wish to make active on your checkout pages.

You can now move to the next settings in your product guarantee settings. What guarantee are you giving your customers? Are you offering a 30-day money back guarantee? Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

You can add this setting here. SamCart was designed with conversion in mind, as I said earlier. These features all encourage conversion.

You can use the +Add Bullet button to add more points as bullet points to your Checkout page.

Once everything is set up, you can start adding your terms & conditions. You can now turn it in.

Before a customer can buy your product, they must agree to your terms.

Have in mind that you’ll provide a URL where your terms and condition content is hosted.

The link will be at the bottom of the page with the hyperlink “Terms and Condition.” Next, you want to add the payment processor for your checkout page. It’s not necessary to repeat the steps that you did in step 2.

Click on the payment tab to switch the active payment options.

Since I have integrated PayPal only for this review, PayPal is only active in my instance. Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

However, if Stripe has been integrated into your system, it will be active and you can turn the on/off switch.

You can also add another payment processor. This option is for merchants who wish to add a secondary product. Click on the dropdown menu to choose an item. Asia Sherif-clark Samcart

You want to add an upsell product. Click on “Upsell” to edit the upsell options. Here is an example of how your upsell product will look like:

It should be something that your customers can add in their shopping cart to go with the product.

Click on the UpSells tab to edit your Upsells. Add a product, note you should have created the product, just like we created the belly fat product. You just need to click on the Add button.

You can also add an upsell funnel to this page if you have one. We’ll be discussing the upsell channel later in this article.

Let’s now look at the next stage in creating our product checkout page, and that’s integration.

Click on the Integration tab:

You’ll notice that our MailChimp integration is showing up with our list in the drop-down list.

You can choose from the drop-down menu which list you want to add customers to after a purchase or refund and to remove them from after purchase or refund.

You’ll also be able to see that there’s no membership integration.

However, if your product is a membership-based product, it is important to integrate your portal using the methods we’ve discussed.

The Advanced section is the last section.

Here are some instructions if you feel like a rockstar and would like to add some scripts to your checkout page. You can add HTML codes or scripts to the header and footer of your checkout page.

Log in to your dashboard to access this page. Navigate to the AFFILIATES section in the menu bar.

Once the page has loaded completely, scroll down until you see the fields that your affiliates will log in and the place they’ll sign-up.

You’ll get something similar if you put the link to the signup page in your browser. However, it will be with your product name.

Affiliates can register by following the link to promote your products. Once your affiliates register, they’ll be notified about a successful registration. Also, their application is pending approval.

Once approved, they’ll receive their login information Email, password, URL, where they can access and promote your products.

You can also activate automatic approval via your Affiliate dashboard, even if they are still pending.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on Auto Approval.

Instead of getting email notifications that their application was pending approval, applicants will automatically be approved. They will immediately receive their login information and be logged in to the dashboard.

How long will you wait for someone who clicked your affiliate links but didn’t buy the first time to become an affiliate referee when they register?

If I click on your affiliate link, return to your checkout page, and make a purchase after 30 days, am I still considered your referral?

You can also modify these settings:

Scroll down in your affiliate dashboard until you see the Cookie Expiration option. Enter the number and duration of time you wish it to stay.

The following example shows that if someone clicks on an associate link and buys your product within 30 days, it will be recorded for your affiliates.

Pretty simple, login into your dashboard navigate to your product section. Then to the Checkout Design tab:

At the moment, multi-language templates are only available in the “World Wide” (or “One-Page Funnel”) templates.

So Dan is done shopping on your ecommerce website and he’s on your product page and wants to checkout.

He clicks the checkout button, and he receives a popup that lets him pay for his order.

So customers don’t have leave your website.

So how do you set this up?

It’s pretty simple, and especially, you don’t have to write any code.

Open any product from the Products tab. Next, click on the customize tab.

On the CUSTOMIZE page, activate the “Sales Letter Popup” Template.

After selecting the Sales Letter Popup template, remember to save your settings.

Scroll down to edit the settings for Sales Letter Popup template.

Once you’re done, click on the Share button at the top of your dashboard. You will receive the code that you can add to your site.

There you have it. The code you should take to your website will look like this:

Copy this code and paste it on your product page. This code will be displayed in your product page so that a popup appears when someone clicks on it.
