Let’s look into how we can do this.

Create an account

It’s easy to set up a SamCart profile. Log into the website SamCart.com and click on the obvious ‘TRY IT FREE’ button.

You’ll then be redirected the pricing page to choose the plan that you wish to test.

The initial payment is not necessary before you try the product. You’ll be taken directly to the checkout page after you click on one of the plans.

During the 14-day trial, you won’t have to pay anything for the product. You can cancel your subscription anytime during the 14-day trial period.

After you have completed your order, you will be taken to the signup page.

Next, you’ll need to create a marketplace. This form will look something like the one below.

Complete the form, and click “Create Marketplace” once you are done.

Next, create a checkout page. Here’s how your SamCart dashboard looks like:

You can see that only in 3 steps, you should be done with creating your checkout page.

Step 1 – Edit Settings

The Edit Settings button will open a new tab. Don’t worry, you’ll be taken to that page automatically.

Let’s continue to go step by step.

The Edit page is divided in five sections. You can edit the General tab to change a lot of things, such as your cart logo or your content URL parameters.

Let’s check out what you can change in these fields:

i Marketplace Name. The Marketplace name can be changed at any time.

You can still edit it if you think that wasn’t accurate.

You can then choose a country that will be displayed as default on your checkout page. Customers can also change this to any country they wish.

ii Time Zone: You can now select the Time Zone your cart will be working with. Angry With Samcart

This is important as if you add an expiry date to your product, it will count based on the time zone that you specify. You can also let your customers know which time zone you use.

iii). Support Contact: Here you will add your support email. You can add an email address that customers can easily contact you.

You can add any email you like. However, it’s better to add a business email address, for example, [email protected]

iv). Currency: You can’t change your currency once you have registered it. At this point, your currency cannot be changed.

However, SamCart support can be reached to rectify the error.

v Embed HTML/Scripts: If you’re a bit tech-savvy and would like to add HTML or JavaScript code on your checkout page, then you can use the Embed HTML/Scripts area.

vi). Buy completion: This is where you will direct your customers after they make a purchase. You can choose whether you want your users to go to the original URL or display a summary page with links.

The Redirect Link Button text allows you to tell your customers what to do next by using a call-to-action button.

You could allow them access to the product, let them download the digital product they purchased, or invite them to your premium area.

Once you have done all of this, you are good to go. However, If you want to configure your marketing analytics at once, you can go do so as well.

You can leave the settings the way they are, you don’t have to bother yourself. But if you want a customized setting you can go ahead and change the values in the fields with any name you desire following the example above.

Once you’re finished editing these settings please save them. The Save button is located at the top-right corner of the page.

The next step is to move to the Integration tab. You will find a lot of integration options there.

You need to make sure you have the integration set up now, so it doesn’t take you too long to add new products.

Let’s first integrate our email autoresponder program. To add an email service, click on the +Add New button.

Pick the one that best suits you. After you have signed up with AWeberor MailChimp you will be able to click on it and then follow the instructions for integration.

Let’s just assume MailChimp as your autoresponder.

Edit the integration details if MailChimp is selected from the drop-down menu. Add the integration label to your API key.

For your label, you can use any name that you like. This is what you will use to identify the integration if you choose to use it. You can name it anything that is descriptive. I’ll name mine MailChimp Integration. Angry With Samcart

You will then need to log in to your MailChimp email account in order for your API key. Go to Mailchimp.com and log in with your username and password.

After you login successfully to MailChimp, navigate the Extras menu. API keys will be found in the drop down list.

Click on the Create Key button, and an API key will automatically be generated. It’s that easy!

Copy it and paste it in your SamCart integration setup.

That’s all there is.

The process may be slightly different if you want to also integrate with another platform.

You don’t even have to go to your dashboard in order to obtain your API Key. Aweber will automatically log you in to complete your integration.

These are the two main ways integration works in most cases.

But if your product is a membership site, you might also want to integrate with a membership platform.

Scroll down to find the Membership link.

Click the + Add New button.

This page will appear:

Select the membership platform for your product, then click on Add Integration.

You can enter all the details and click on the “integrate” button. All the required information is in your dashboard. Log into your OptimizeMember dashboard to get them.

Next, customize the email settings. Click on the Email tab to access this function. You can modify the following settings:

a Email Footer: This is where you can edit and change the footer information that will appear in every email sent from your dashboard.

You can edit the popup box by clicking on it.

Next, you will need to create emails which are the same for each customer for certain events. Angry With Samcart

Click on the Edit button and edit it.

What about when processes go sour? These are the Dunning Emails, which you use to send emails to customers when processes fail.

After you’re done editing your email, you can add custom fields if desired. If you would like to add custom fields to your checkout page please click the CUSTOM FIELD tab.

To add custom fields, click on the + Create New button.

A pop up will show up.

Enter the name of the fields you want to add, the internal field name won’t be seen by your customer but the check out page label will be shown to the customer as the field name.

A drop-down list of items appears when you click the field. Understand that for a drop-down list, the customer can only choose one item.

A checkbox can contain multiple items that the user can choose from. Customers can choose to pick all or one of the items in a checkbox.

This is a single-item checkbox.

Once you are done, click on Save.

You can add as much as you want. However, long forms are not liked by customers. Be brief.

It’s likely they will abandon it. As I mentioned earlier, two thirds of customers abandon their shopping cart.

You shouldn’t give customers another reason to abandon your site. The research shows that 27% leave shopping carts when they find it too difficult or lengthy. Angry With Samcart

Keep it simple.

Enter their email address below and click Add New. Your request will be accepted by them via email. Once they accept the request, they should also be able register as an administrator.

Now you are done with Step 1.

Next, let’s get to Step 2

Step 2: Connect to a Processor

Go back to the previous tab if you’ve been following this tutorial. Now you will connect a pay processor to allow you to receive payments. Click on the Add payment processor button.

Once again, you’ll be taken back to the Settings and the Integration tab. Where you can find the payment integration option.

To add a Payment Processor, click the big ADDNE button or +Add New Button at the top of the page.

As of the time of this writing, SamCart integrates with two payment processors Paypal and Stripe.

After clicking on the Create New link, a page will open showing you this:

Click on either Paypal or Stripe. You can login to Stripe by clicking on Stripe if you click Stripe.

Once you have completed the form, you will be able to start your journey. Check to make sure that your country appears on Stripe payment acceptance lists.

You can add both payment options for customers if you choose. Customers can choose which payment processor they prefer.

Let’s continue to the next step.

Step 3: Create a product

Now return to your dashboard. Now you will be taken to the Payment processor page. This is the exciting part.

Once you click on that button, you should see the following page:

Click on the +New Products button.

This page is available to you for adding new product information. Enter the product name and price. Choose whether the payment will be one-time or recurring.

An ebook is a type of product that can be purchased once. A membership or online course, on the other hand, will need recurring payments.

Once you have entered the product information you may need to update the next page.

You’ll see them in the top menu. There are other settings that you can change to complete your checkout.

Let’s start from the product image. Upload your product image. The image that will show up like this one one SamCart checkout page:

When customers make a purchase on your checkout page they will be directed to a specific webpage. Most people will have a page like yourdomain.com/thankyou.html Next enter the product type are you selling a digital product or physical product?

If the product is digital, you can upload it immediately. If it isn’t a digital product, however, you can ignore that option. Angry With Samcart

You can also enable the coupon code option for this stage if you plan to use coupons in marketing.

When you enable it, people will be able add coupons to your product to get a discount.

Click on “Add New Coupon” to open a pop-up with the following details:

A great way to increase your customer base is to use coupon codes. Discounts are a favorite with customers. Just think, some customers will buy things they don’t need because it’s cheap.

They will say it may become too expensive later on, when they might be in need and don’t have the cash.

So they’ll likely want to buy. Marketing with coupon codes is a great strategy. Angry With Samcart

To complete the coupon codes setup, select a code and choose whether the coupon will be valid for a single time or a recurring code. Choose the option that best describes what you want to offer your customers.

You can add a coupon at no additional cost.

Let’s move on to the checkout pages design.

Click on the Checkout Design tab and then select from more than 18 templates at the time of writing. Any one of these templates can be chosen to suit your brand.

Scroll down to customize the design. You will find many options to customize the design to suit your brand’s voice.

You can begin by customizing the color.

You can either choose from pre-defined color codes, or you can create your own. It also has a color selector, so you can choose the color you desire without worrying about the color codes.

You can change the color for your header, footer, background and headline as well.

Next, you will need to add fields. This includes your custom fields. We also have the “school”, which we previously created, that we can add to your product pages. Check the fields that are active on your checkout page.

Now you can go to the next settings of your product’s warranty settings. What guarantee can you give your customers? Are you offering a guarantee of 30 days? Angry With Samcart

You can add that setting here. SamCart was designed with conversion in mind, as I said earlier. These features all encourage conversion.

To add more bullet points on your Checkout page, you can use the +Add Bolt button.

Once you set that up completely, you can now move to adding your terms and conditions. Now, turn it on.

Before a customer can buy your product, they must agree to your terms.

Have in mind that you’ll provide a URL where your terms and condition content is hosted.

The link will be located at the bottom with the hyperlink “Terms And Conditions”. Next, you’ll need to add your payment processor for the checkout page. You don’t have to repeat the steps from step 2 again.

Click on the payment tab to switch the active payment options.

Since I have integrated PayPal only for this review, PayPal is only active in my instance. Angry With Samcart

But, Stripe can be activated if you have it integrated.

You can also add another payment processor. This option is for merchants who wish to add a secondary product. Click on the drop-down menu to select an item. Angry With Samcart

You are adding an upsell product. To edit the upsell option, click on the Upsell tab. This is how an upsell product should look like:

It should be an item your customers can add to their shopping cart to compliment the product they’ve bought.

Click on the UpSells button to modify your Upsells. Note that you must have created the product before adding it to the cart. You just need to click on the Add button.

It’s possible to add upsell funnels here if you have created one. We’ll talk more on upsell funnel later in this article.

Let’s move on to the next part of the process, which is creating our product checkout pages and then integrating them.

A script you could include here in Facebook’s pixel script or in your Google AnalyticsScript to help with better marketing.

To access this page you will need to log in and navigate to the “AFFILIATES” tab in your menu bar.

Once the page is loaded fully, scroll down to the bottom of the page until the fields are found that will allow your affiliates to login.

If you place the signup link in the browser, you will see something similar but with your product title.

Affiliates can register with that link to start promoting your products. Once your affiliates creates an account, they’ll be notified of a successful registration and that their application is pending approval.

Once they are approved, they will be sent their login details email, password, and login URL so they can access their accounts.

If you do not want to have them pending you can activate automatic approbation in your Affiliate Dashboard.

Scroll to the bottom on your affiliate dashboard and find Auto Approval. This slide can be toggled on or off.

Instead of receiving emails advising them that their application is being reviewed, they’ll be approved immediately. They will receive their login details immediately. Once they log in to their dashboard, they’ll automatically be approved.

How long will you like someone who clicked on your affiliate links without purchasing the first time to be regarded as the affiliate referral when they eventually register?

If I click on your affiliate link, return to your checkout page, and make a purchase after 30 days, am I still considered your referral?

You can also add these settings to your account:

Scroll down until you find the Cookie Expiration option in your affiliate dashboard. Enter the number of days you want it to last.

In the below example, after someone clicks the affiliate link and purchases your product anytime within 30 business days, it will automatically be recorded for you affiliates.
